Latinjubileo moved one of the yellow pillars and shortened the kitchen wall. Is that allowed? Basically the drawing is as per my suggestion on the baths. He didn't open that second bedroom to make the entry side of the flat into one large 10x30.3 dining/living area. I think the bedroom end of the present dining area should be a hallway providing more private entry into the bedroom and bath that is accessible to the general living area. That would still leave room for a nice sized kitchen next to the new dining area in the front entry. Dytecture, how do you read the window placement on these plans? I read that the balcony end was window for the living area I proposed at that end of the space. Thanks for drawing some of it out, LJ.

I own the 1st floor of a 2-storied building. The ground floor being occupied by one of my close relative. We had been sharing the same entrance to the house till now. But due to some personal problems there has been a need to change the entrance to my house (i.e. the 1st floor). I have to construct a staircase in the front side towards the left side of the building. I am also planning to extend the existing drawing-room ( to the extreme left side of the building, as seen in the Photograph, attached) filling-up the open space, as seen in the photo. Please help me out to redesign the entrance and the extension of my Drawing room.

will you have more cabinets instead of the puja? if the view from the windows is nice, i'd put the sink under a window, so you have something to look at when washing dishes/cleaning foodstuffs. as for arranging furniture, the way they have it, they must think you have a huge tv, to need to be so far back from it. my goodness. besides, the couch blocks the balcony! i'd turn that arrangement so that the tv is on the wall with the loveseat, but scooted away from the balcony door, and then arrange the furniture accordingly, making sure there's room to get to the balcony. turning the dining table 90° will give more chair room.

Suvarchala, I am presuming that you do not want the doors to face each other due to privacy concerns. If that's right you wouldn't also want the guest/visitors to go to a bath in one of your rooms. Have you considered that before dropping off a common bath from the plan. If your neighbour has a door facing yours then you can also think about doing a mirror image of what respected member suggested above.
