You have to go for an accent wall! Here are some awesome peel and stick wallpaper options that could work:

Yellow peel and stick wallpaper

Female body lines peel and stick wallpaper

Multicolor Brush strokes peel and stick wallpaper

These are pretty quirky.

Fabulous room! Some colorful artwork (could be 2 or 3 pieces ) would be great, but must be the right size. Could be a long, colorful tapestry type thing?
In the meantime the empty space is not at all obnoxious!!! Better empty space than bland/generic/“filler” stuff.

And I actually think the pieces suggested by shirlpp are a bit big. I think whatever you put up needs a bit more breathing space

I wouldn’t worry about trying to get the perfect size to fill the space, get something you enjoy looking at, no matter size. Your nice windows are the focal point, and cool art a bonus. :)

Wow! Left for some errands and came back to such great ideas! Thank you guys so much. I've really struggled with what size/at what height to hang something there. We were considering a gallery wall, but I don't want it to be too busy. I'm leaning towards a grouping of the bark paintings..although I have a slight octopus obsession (there are actually 2 sculptures in the entertainment center).

We also NEED to add some window covering to at least the far-right window - it faces east and the sun is going to destroy our couch. Let me know if you have ideas for that! It's about 14' high. I was considering a roller shade so that it would essentially disappear on the beam when not in use.

@AliceKami Design Studio thank you! Do you think long and narrow artwork would accentuate the height of the ceilings? We never intended for everything to be so tall! We're trying to make things more cozy with our black accent walls and darker neutrals.

@drdeb1234 thank you! What do you think about a grouping of 3 or 4 of the Mexican folk art? They look to all be close to 16" x 23" ish.

@Jilly - LOVE the folk art. We're south-central Texas, so a lot of Mexican influence here! Your comment to pick what we like to look at regardless of the size really hit home, too. I've been drooling over some paintings by Amanda Krantz (amazing stuff!) but nothing is very big. I might just go for it!

but if you go with the bark art I don’t think it would work.

instead of a roller shade maybe you could drop on long bolt of red cloth right where the windows join, from the ceiling to the floor. Put a curtain rod above the far right window so you can pull the cloth across the window when needed to block light. I suggested red because of your rug and if you get bark art, but it could be any color. Violet might be great

@User I have never heard of chainmail draperies! Very cool, but it doesn't seem like we'd get much UV protection from them, right? ...off to find out where I can use metal mesh drapes!
