I faced the same issue when i brought a new house and had to use my old double door refrigerator. The refrigerator was white in colour but after 6 years of usage it turned yellow . I simply brought a 700 Rs decal sticker from aliexpress and voila its turns out really well for my house. Attached some pictures for your reference. Now talking about the almirah i would have painted it some bright neon colour or maybe matt black ( colour depending on what would look good in your house ) to make it the show stopper of the house. i think you can add some water element to it ....or you just stick to your plan i.e. placing a statue of deity is a good option to utilize that corner portion or u can place a shelf with storage ..... where u can keep stuff that can be taken before heading out from the house ....or a key holder ....on that wall......or a small table with telephone something like that .....i think that's pretty enough for u to decide upon shelf with storage where u can keep your bag , hats etc. which u can take before leaving the house by this kind of a corner table with a telephone, space can be utilized .
