I'll assume you are asking about puck shape LED lights. Those typically have a slightly focused output compared to other lamping so I'd say they need to be spaced a little closer than normal. But that is offset by the greater than normal distance from countertop to underside of upper cabinets; the greater the distance the beam travels, the larger the cone of light expands. However, LED lights, which I do love, have a lower lumen output. Pucks generally put out 200 lumens which is the rough equivalent of a 25w incandescent. So you may need more of them to give you the cumulative lumens needed for task lighting. Lighting layouts are tricky and always site specific. So with my lack of knowledge of you cabinet run and needs, take this with a grain of salt. I would space them 18" and antipicipate using more than initially planned. Phew!!! After all that, I much prefer STRIP style LED lighting for under cabinet lighting. There operate on 12v or 24v transformers, can be dimmed with a electronic dimmer switch and their lumen output is based on a linear foot measurement of the strip. 24v systems are better as they put out around 240 lumens per linear foot. The main advantage of these is the even output of light across the space. These are awesome when you're doing a whole kitchen because each short stretch can be daisy chained so they are all on one circuit. If you're doing one small area, stay with pucks. Hope this helps.

Greetings. Try looking at Houzz PHOTOS. Scroll down to Patios. Click. Enter "atrium" in the search box. Be sure to use quotation marks (" "). Some atriums are open to the sky, as your space is. I did see at least one with an "outdoor" kitchen. Another place to look for ideas for your space on Houzz is the Patios section. These are usually at the back of a house. Some patios are enclosed by high walls, which is similar to your situation. You can save the photos you like the best into your own Ideabook. Even if you are not sure about a photo, add it to your Ideabook as soon as you see it. It is impossible to find a specific photo on Houzz unless you have the photo number. It is easy to delete a photo from an Ideabook.

Keya, glad you decided to take the one reader's idea about moving the armoires in front of windows that you don't need and giving the bed a wall of its own! And, yes, you can have Roman shades on one wall and layered drapes on the other. When I had drapes made for my tall sitting room windows/doors, I had them use the same fabric for the Roman shades for the smaller windows on the other wall. For me personally, in these older Indian homes with all the odd nooks and niches in the walls, perhaps it would be more soothing to have a light/med tone paint on the walls that blends with the drapes/blinds for an 'uninterrupted' look, and I would use the same color on ceiling and beams. (but that is just my thought) I would start the process with a large carpet with your favorite colors, then choose your Bedcover & cushions, then your wall paint and fabric for drapes/blinds ..Not certain what style you like, but if you really like a particular Ethnic bedcover fabric, you can always have them stitched into curtains or Roman shades too. hi, COB lights mostly creates warmth & focus, whereas panel lights can be used for soft indoor general lighting ..... you can opt for combination of both as panel lights for general ceiling lights & COB for highlighting particular wall or area which can create good ambiance..... These very general opinion as it all works out based on size of your room, decor & ceiling ht.....and definitely personal choice.
