Hi Tracey,

These tiles were from Elegance Tiles, I think from memory they were called Beton in grey. They had a terrazzo or concrete look to them but they were porcelain tiles and were used in this bathroom and the laundry. Thanks, Michelle :)

Either one would work in the kitchen. I think it is more of a personal choice. I prefer tile in the kitchen.

You could go for tiles with design if they are simple ones. if you want plain, you can add some life in the country style with an exposed brick facade or subway tiles. for colours, it depends on how far out of your comfort zone you're willing to go. white is the safe choice, but you can go for blue, green, yellow, all pastel hues
