Love the continuous floor to the shower...angle of drainage?

We are considering a very similar construction with a continuous floor from main bath floor to shower. How did you construct the drop and what kind of drain did you use? Did you have to cut into floor joists or raise the floor?

Thank you for your comments. We had a very skilled contractor and the bath was a complete gut, which made life easier. Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly how he achieved the slope to the back other than to say it started at the glass edge. The rest of the bath floor is level.

Thank you! Also, did you have a tradition round drain, or one of the rectangular slot drains? If the later, has that worked well?

This configuration works best with a linear drain, which is what we have used here. Sounds like you need a good contractor!

Thank you for that tip! My husband is a professional...otherwise yes we would love a good contractor ;-). Many thanks for these tips.
