Your architect would be giving you an informed opinion based on that. Cement Bricks have more strength and are cheaper than the red bricks. They also help to complete the work faster because of bigger and uniform sizes. So, I would prefer to disagree with the reasoning given. Secondly, you are in Kerala and fyki, red bricks takes away precious farming soil layer away. We already had a bad flood. In the best interests of nature you may want to avoid doing more harm. Ardhendu, What are the walls made of ? You may not need plastering for this wall if it is made of red bricks. Else there are multiple ways to achieve the look. Brick tiles, plaster compound are the most prevalent ones. Thanks Nitin CORNERSTONE DESIGNS , Bangalore

These are authentic bricks in the construct. You can buy brick cladding from almost any tiles shop or use brick texture, but let me give you a headsup, they wont come anywhere close to original bricks, unless you go for a high end one
