Wow, that's an ugly solution for wiring. I'm so sorry for you that it hasn't been done in a nicer way. Boxing it in would do the job, but you're not allowed to drill the walls. Was this done through or by your landlord/lady? I would talk to them and perhaps they will allow you to box it in. This looks horrible. Otherwise painting it white would probably be the best solution. Good luck.

Avoid choosing from catalog and visit a store that has laminates on display. That way you can get an idea of the entire sheet of laminate, its colour, grains, texture and effect. Follow the same for veneer selections. If you do not want to take risks go for reconstructed veneers with straight lines. You may choose similar laminates as well. Ok so go for ambient and cool colour wallpaper behind the wall. You can have same colour in ceiling that of wardrobe and make other wall plain light colour.
