Designer's Choice Cabinetry vs Tedd Wood

Does anyone have any recent experience with the Designer's Choice?

From what I read online the reviews were less then desirable with this particular cabinet maker. However I saw that they were acquired in 2016 by the same firm that owns Tedd Wood. We were looking at the Tedd Wood line however our original quote came in much higher then we wanted to spend. They said a way to cut the costs could be to look at the Designer's Choice instead.

Considering the amount of cabinets that we need I want to be sure we get a cabinet that will last without sending us to the poor house.

I'm sorry to say that I do not sell or have experience with either. But Tedd Wood Inc's reviews on HOUZZ seem promising:

I am not able to find a Designer's Choice HOUZZ profile page. I would assume they were a smaller company, that didn't have a department or person for social media aspects of the brand.

Both companies are owned by the same capital firm. I was hoping someone had experience with either of these two cabinet makers.

Hi Nitin, Thanks for the valuable suggestion, but can you have some brief on why BWP ply-boar and why not BWR, majorly what is the difference amongst them, And you are telling for lamination, lamination of what (pvc lamination you are talking about) or some other, if pvc lamination then i heard and googled that pvc lamination color will get dull after some time and scratches can occur, whether we are having other lamination options which can resist long period of time. please majorly not consider price as blocker, i am going to Reno after 20 years so it would be the best from my side, please suggest consider durability, no dullness in color, and with strong panels. Manpreet, Congratulations on your new home! You can go with BWP ply with laminates. You are right in your choice of matt and glossy laminates for base and wall cabinets respectively. I have a few suggestions. Hope these will help. Go for a wooden sofa set. I know many people nowadays tend to go for fabric sofa sets and sectionals, but i fee that wooden sofas never go out of style. Also, you can change the upholstery colour any time if you want a more colourful look or a colourful slip cover (you can get a local uphostery guy to custom stitch one) which can be washed easily. Go for sleek furnitures that are not heavy. You can also add a few accent furniture pieces like an accent chair if the space allows for it. There are couple of things to note when you bring in colour. Choose one primary colour and maximum two secondary colours. After you choose your colours, pick your decor. Add dashes of these colours through cushions, vases, flowers, paintings, figurines, curtains, carpets and other decor pieces. If you have a favourite painting, pick your accent colours from them. Or if you like the colours in a particular cushion covers, the other pieces can be colour matched. Always hang your paintings at eye level. I noticed that your hang your frames quite high up. Place them around 57 - 60 inches from the floor. Hope I could help

I believe Designer's Choice and Tedd Wood are run as two separate companies so the experience/quality of one has no bearing on the other. I've handled Designer's Choice off and on over the years. It is a line for the budget -conscious, and I definitely have conversations with clients about expectations. For what it is, Designer's Choice is a dependable line of cabinetry. However, it does have it's limits and is not for every client I work with. For instance, if you have a very critical eye, it might not be the correct choice for your project. But if budget is high on your list of priorities, it can work out well - just understand what it is that you are buying.

I don't have any experience with Tedd Wood, but a quick look makes me think that it is at the other end of the quality spectrum from Designer's Choice. I would not think you are making an apples-to-apples comparison there. You might have other brand choices that could get you closer to the quality you desire.
