To caulk or not to caulk (the expoed beams)

Hi, I have a huge dilemma on my hands, we are building a house and also have exposed wood beams. Because the ceiling is pitched, on one side there's no gap, and on the other side, there's a 1/8" to 1/4" gap (as the drywall is tilted). The sheetrocker did use a tearaway bead but the inconsistency of gap vs. no gap is driving me nuts. I may have no choice but to caulk it. Worried about caulk cracking and looking crappy... Did you guys caulk your beams? If so, any issues with caulk cracking?

    Hi Germain,

I've asked the homeowners to give me feedback regarding this issue. I do remember having to use some caulking, but have no idea how its held up. Its been 8 years! I'll get back to you as soon as I hear.

    Thanks,

    Bahi

Thank you so much Bahi. If in 8 years the caulk stayed in fine, I'd like to know what product they're using! :)
