Tips for Hanging Pictures, Artwork and Wall Art
Comments (0)Most wall art looks best when hung at eye level or slightly lower than eye level. Keep in mind how the art will be viewed most often (from a standing or sitting position). Also, consider where the picture is being hung. For children's rooms, hang kids art at the eye level of the child. When hanging art above furniture, have twice as much space above the art than below it. A general guideline to follow for framed artwork is 4 to 8 inches from the surface of the furniture to the bottom of the frame. For framed art prints, a good rule of thumb is to center the frame 60 inches off the floor. To do this, measure the height of the frame and divide by two. Then measure the space from the wire to the top of the frame and subtract this number from the first number. Now add 60 inches to this figure. This is the point to insert the hook. When your picture hangs from the hook it should hang approximately one-third from the top of the frame....See MorePeacock Teal dining
Comments (31)Dear Crazyjunglite, please let me add some ideas for your space. I beleive that a nice combination of two curtains like the one with the blue and peach double curtains in the picture, will give you an eclectic feeling that matches to your painting. The combination of colors that I suggest is this blue with brown flares and the cream-peach taffetas, and the soft cream sheer behind. It will join all the rest beautiful items suggested by now: https://www.etsy.com/listing/163787105/blue-curtain-polyester-fabric-122-inches?ref=shop_home_active https://www.etsy.com/listing/163785041/light-yellow-beige-curtain-polyester?ref=related-6 https://www.etsy.com/listing/167660815/35-discount-for-one-pair-of-two-beige?ref=listing-shop-header-1 https://www.etsy.com/listing/167363693/ecru-sheer-curtains-fabric-118-inches?ref=shop_home_active...See MoreLiving Room Suggestion
Comments (6)Hi Nisha, Like the way you have chosen a neutral colour palette keeping in mind the size of your Living room. Would like to share a simple home styling tip: Always slip your carpet below the 2 front legs of the furniture around it. This helps to pull the room together. Your wall can be treated in multiple ways: It's a nice idea of having a floating shelf. This can also be combined with a collage of frames, small wall art, Some Letters, Arrows, etc. around it to fill the wall as seen below: Regarding the painting idea: Choose the subject as an abstract/geometrical, since this would match the style of your living room. And always hang the painting with its base at just 6-8" from the sofa backrest. (keeping them at an eye level). A) You can opt for a huge landscape framed painting, that would cover the wall. OR B) Have 2 similar vertical frames, hung side by side. Can also add a focus light above to highlight these paintings. You can highlight it with a wallpaper / textured paint finish (only if it is continuous wall) in the family of neutral shades and geometric patterns. Also can have a huge wall art or a figurine hung on the wall. These are easily available online. Colour Ur Blank Spaces is an online interior design service.
