Privacy could be obtained with a screen, placement of potted plants, an open bookcase, but I like your idea for a curved track with a curtain as one option for visual privacy. I would rotate the dining table 90 degrees and move it towards the balcony. I would remove those two chairs/tables because the layout of a single chair that far apart from another chair does not work. You may need to move the seating away from the main entrance because it looks like you walk in and you're on top of a loveseat. In such a tight space with so many doors that open in to the main living/dining - my advice is to keep it simple. Scale the furniture properly and have pieces that are multi-functional. Example- an ottoman that can serve as seating. A bench at the dining table to seat 3 on each side. I would also place two smaller loveseats facing each other in front of the fireplace. This will give you an "entry area" (along the back side of the kitchen wall) and help to define the living from dining rooms. Even if you don't have a formal entry, try to create a bit of space to welcome people.

Hi Zainaba, You may go for both American pleat curtains as well as roman cloth blinds for your window. 1] American Pleat Curtains These look lovely and add elegance and grace but have a tendency to "fly" with air circulation in the room. You can provide a weight chain to solve this issue. Also avoid giving lining to these curtains. Some of them such as linen and cotton curtains tend to shrink after being washed and their polyester/satin lining does not. In the process you may lose the shape of the curtain. Best to stitch the curtain and the black out lining separately and provide a two track curtain.Also keep the curtains length more than that of the window so that its bottom gets tucked in behind the bed back/headboard. It looks neater that way. Also, these can be easily removed and washed at home. 2] Roman Blinds Roman blinds are a neater option as far as window shades are concerned. The look graceful and showcase the fabric, its print and its make way better than the american pleat curtains. Hi Sahil, 2 lakhs for such a huge room is a bit tight, specially when we are talking about making the furniture. The sofas alone will be an expensive investment and so will the bed and the wardrobe. Since the window openings are pretty large, either floor length curtains or roman blinds would be required in substantial quantities. Here are a few tips that may help you in cutting down the cost quite a bit - 1] Buy furniture online from sites like Pepperfry, Urban Ladder etc. They have good quality stuff at a reasonable price. You can order the bed, side tables, sofas, pouffes, couches, chairs, study table etc. This way you will always know what you are paying for and also always have the budget in mind. 2] Invest in coloured walls instead of wallpapers. You can always add wallpaper subsequently say when you want to give your room an uplift. 3] Have the carpenter make your TV unit and wardrobes since these would have to be customized. Invest in good quality laminate (it saves the cost of polishing too). Go for solid colours or satin finish wooden textures. If you are not fond of laminates, you can go for recon veneers. These are pretty cheap i.e. around Rs. 60/ sqft. but require polishing. However, veneers look better than laminates any day. 4] Add a personal touch with photographs, paintings, posters and other items of your interest. Dedicate a wall to these to create interest. 5] Try using old loose furniture like tables and chairs which you can retouch to save money. 6] Keep adding new stuff as you go to complete the look. Never hurry, complete only those items that are a priority. Then when your budget permits you can keep adding to it. For eg. have the bed, curtains and cupboards in place first.
