Have you thought of using wall vinyl to add some expression to your room? It really does add that little bit of character and warmth, and can always be removed without damaging the walls. The awesome part about these is that they look like they are painted on the wall- I have a bunch in my house! Plus you can get them in virtually any color to go with your rust walls. I like the idea of bringing some black into your room. I think lamps with black shades would look very nice and because you love pink you could get black chairs with pink cushions. You need to tie in the pink in other areas of your livingroom but I would not overdue it. It's a beautiful shade of pink but too much of it would be too overpowering in my opinion. Post some more pictures of your room if you can.

Adding taupe or beige to the walls, in most hues, would blend in too much with the draperies. I love the lavender in the bedding. It would pull the room together if you were to choose a grey paint that had elements of lavender or berry and silver. The color would be subtle, neutral, relaxing as well as refined. This slight shimmer will pull out the subtle nuances in the marble. As the headboard is already so interesting, it would be too busy to add anything too ornate on the wall. To open up the room and increase the light, you could hang a mirror. I would select an Art Deco style with metallic accents to continue pulling together the room. The marble is lovely, but combined with the sleek lines in the bed and bedding it creates a very smooth appearance. To create warmth, it is necessary to add additional texture. I would add a soft, plush or high pile area rug by the bed. How nice would it be to step out of bed on to that?

Personally, I would also steer clear of pink. The latest Disney Princesses have been all about the blue, green etc etc. (and I rather like the yellow!) One of the most cost effective solutions is to make a virtue of the existing colour scheme by getting some woodland decals and a couple of small fairies (think: Sleeping Beauty in the woods) for the walls and wardrobe - easy to place and reposition, and easy to remove if you want to change the theme at a later date. See if you can find a big decal that looks like a picture frame, too, and put that on the mirror in the wash area (think: magic mirror!) Some sort of drapery, above the bed is always good. If you're concerned about installing a full corona on the ceiling, you can mount a curtain rail above the bed (don't forget to buy one with crystal sparkly finials!) and hang a set of long voile curtains for a similar effect! I would then advocate sparkly crystal curtain tie backs - they're cheap, cheerful and can be swapped out when the colour begins to bore. Finally, swap out all the drawer pulls and knobs with something glam and crystal-ly in style. Assuming your daughter is quite young, I would say err on the side of shiny bling, and she'll love them! All of these options are pretty simple to do, not too expensive and easy to reverse or change as she grows up!
