Can you clarify. What do you mean by 'false ceiling, with down lights'? Take one down or put it up? Same with the rest of your list. The pictures are clear enough to be able to determine what you've got going on. Clarify what you need help on and post more pictures so we can see the entire kitchen.

Is there a reason you have those colors on the walls? Without pics we are in the dark. What exactly is your style ?

Thank you Shalaka ! I do love it the way it is but since the windowstart are ceiling to floor and facing West, in summers it becomes a furnace. Hence the need for double curtains. So wanted to get something that when needed if I tie the front cream ones from the back when they show, it looks nice. While my husband liked orange, I was leaning towards, gold. So we decided to put it for vote. Thank you for your input :-)

the furniture is of 1980's... so see that it is old fashioned.. I want a light colour to go with this... so please suggest me ASAP
