Dining accent wall modifications

Recently I pasted this wallpaper on my dining accent wall.But unfortunately it came out to be very bland in colour. So thinking to design the wall with some extra accessories like one wall sticker, 3sets of wall paintings and one or two shelves without removing the existing wallpaper.Need suggestions.
FYI: (My plan)
The tree branch wall sticker will be installed on the top right corner above the door,three colourful wall paintings will be hanged in the centre, two shelves on the left side.the right side door frames will be panned like as left.

Comments (12)thanks all for replies. I want to highlight the wall as rest walls are almost white and need some change. there are white tiles on the floor, red sofa set and mostly brown furniture. Let's start from bottom line, what is the budget that you can spare now for the makeover. A lot of remodelling would depend upon the budget .BTW, I really appreciate your honesty about the affordability ! Comments (5)You should ideally use multi utility furniture. A TV unit with in built or foldable dining table. Use big mirrors and light colors to give a spacious look. Because you have a big window ( in the living room) . That can be the accent wall with some dramatic curtains and a corner drop light. There is alot we can achieve in this space. PRO8 years agotwo mistakes don't make it right. a mistake and an alteration will remain a compromise. to never compromise redo wallpaper from scratch until you achieve satisfaction.
a compromise still is hardwork. i would suggest keep the existing wallpaper as a vertical strip. remove the rest and paint either side in yellow. Hang framed photos on the yellow bits and a large wall hanging center of the wallpaper strip. see if your budget allows to get rid of the unsightly ceiling fan to replace with a retro design.

8 years agoAdd two plain wooden plank shelves, on the shelves place similarly framed art work/photographs(related to food as its the dining area
) and plants(preferably creeper type with falling leaves) you can also add some brass or nickel plated show pieces as is the trend these days.

PRO8 years agoYou can get a custom wall art done , glass with bronze, glass painting, that wall should be a center of attraction, anyone walks. I have done this for a site, it works wonders, guest appreciate a unique feature. this can be done as DIY project on weekend also.
