Need help to organize my TV and music system and curio wall.
Comments (25)You have all the reasons to redo the house, its very lifeless and looks worn out. I feel creating a separation will terminate the spaciousness of the room. Adding colours will surely help, Since you have a tan color sofa,I suggest grey, white or light blue color on one of the walls. Add some art works of the color you chose for the wall. This room needs some fillers like , books, throws, candle stands tall and lean. YES DON FORGET 1. Mount the tv on the wall make some space on the floor and Fix a large size mirror ( Wooden Frame if you can afford)....See MoreNeed help with my living room
Comments (138)Leather sofas can really dominate the room and can give an overall cold feeling. I would add some earthy elements, like a wood coffee table with glass or metal. Go to Restoration Hardware's website and look at their sofa room scenes. And I'm sorry I think the art is too harsh for the room. That's all your eye goes to in the room. too overpowering. I would look for something softer or maybe a cool mirror and I would add color to the room with pillows and some colorful lamps. I also think woven blinds would look great. They add warmth and give a finished look. The color of your window treatments should contrast your wall color a bit, not match it or else it starts to look generic and blah.. You have warm walls, warm floors and the woven blinds, like Hunter Douglas brand would pull it all together for you....See MoreNeed help to Place my LCD TV in the middle of the hall
Comments (21)HI -- Well this is a nice floor plan but it creates problems . Because the space is all open doesn't mean you have to put the living room or the dining room where indicated on the plan . Also where you have marked for the sofa is not going to work there . Not enough room and in the way of getting to the bathroom etc, I do think you may have to have a free floating TV stand between the living -dining rooms . You could have the TV on the wall beside the kitchen and have the sofa facing or on the left wall and the dining at the front . I would put the TV on the left wall near the entrance and have the sofa facing it , leaving a hallway walking space behind the sofa . It's too bad the front entrance is on the left . If it had been on the right then that would be better flow into the center of the main floor . If you do decide to have the TV room divider where you show on the plan , keep it right over to the left wall as a room divider , then it won't cut the room in half so much and it keeps the stairwell open . Remember , you do not need to push the furniture against the walls ....See MoreLiving room dilemma
Comments (12)It looks like there are windows on the two walls adjacent to the fireplace, so I'll take your word for it that the TV can't go anywhere else. You make a focal wall by putting on it things you want to look at. I would clear the mantel, install built ins, get a lighter and bolder graphic rug, and pull the seating in closer. Before I did any of that, though, I'd see about improving the light. More lighting, or maybe just warmer color temperature bulbs....See Moretorreykm
