shower tile selections

Using mosaic tile for shower floor and accents (band around walls & niche), considering the tumbled stone for floor and polished version of same stone for the wall accents. It's the same stone pattern & color but one is shiny and recommended for the walls (matches back splash over vanity) and the other (unpolished, non shiny finish) is recommended for shower floor. My question: has anyone combined 2 tile finishes in this way and is it a good idea? or should we pick just one and use it on both the shower floor and wall accents?

Mixing honed and polished tiles is common. You would not want slippery polished tiles installed as the shower floor...If mixing tile finishes does not appeal to you, then go with honed.

You can use natural stone like marble for floor but do not use granite for floor at all as it is very slippery when wet. As for tiles do not go for glazed vitrified tiles for the floor for the same reason. ( floor becomes slippery once wet and may cause mishap) Go for ceramic anti skid tiles that are specially meant for bathroom floor. For wall tiles you can use whatever you like and then decide over the matching anti skid floor tile/ marble. Double charged vitrified tiles are usually used for flooring in rest of the house.
