I would however like to clarify my requirements/dilemma a bit more. 1) The built/carpet area for this 3 BHK is about 1600 sqft (Superbuilt 1960 sqft). What is the appropriate tile size I need to scout for? More specifically, will Ultima-range-like huge tile sizes (i.e. 120x180cm2, 120x120cm2) be suitable for this area? 2) While I am thinking of white (based) tiles, I am not necessarily looking for super-white tones (it gives a bit of a commercial look, and will need extreme maintenance). Something more practical, and with some depth/dimension is what I am trying to identify. Any suggestions? 3) Would you advice that I consider other white-toned flooring options like Terrazzo (Bharat Floorings is having a Cast-in-Situ option, but I am yet to go to their showroom)? I suggest that you go for tile cladding (light color) with spot lights (if there is a feasibility to get from the ceiling or can consider wall lights) or two directional lights (on the wall). You can also have a ledge/groove which can house some idol or an artefact to give a vibrant look. The other alternate options that I can suggest are the SPVC panelling (which gives marble/granite look) or the 3D wall paneling (made of Gypsum)

Hi Mr. Nitin, I am working as a Technical Sales engineer in one of Indian leading Acoustic Company. Everyday I receive minimum three calls for the same problems which you stated here. There two types of Sound transfer First is through Air borne like person Voice, speaker, sound horn. Second is through Structures like person knocking the door, neighbour people jumping the floor, elevator noise, etc. Yours problem comes under second type. This problem in ceiling concrete floor occurs due to lower steel usage and thickness of the concrete. The exact solution for this problem is to install the acoustic underlayment GETZNER AFM 23 under the Flooring tiles, which is specially designed for this kind of issue. But, it should be done during the construction stage of the building only. It can not be done after construction. If you use Acoustic panels and ceiling tiles, this products will reduce only the noise transferred though Air borne. So there is no solution reduction of this structural borne noise currently.
