need help with adding curb appeal to our new home
Comments (10)A good beginning would be to replace the walkway up to the house. A new brick walkway or stamped concrete in the same color as the brick on the house will pull all of the elements of the exterior of your home together. I made my walkway 3 feet wide with 2 feet beds on each side of the walkway in stamped concrete. Create the walkway at a distance from the house in an organic natural flowing pattern up to the house with planting beds flowing beside the walkway. Take the brick right up to the from door. Soften the entrance to your home by opening the planting beds up by the house into large organic shapes. That's what I did with my home and it changed it dramatically! It's a lot of work but what a difference!...See MoreNeed help to decide the exterior of house
Comments (6)This is a most unusual and interesting structure. I would not have been sure it was a house from the picture. Pameladunson and I are in agreement that the strong visual difference between the rather utilitarian-looking "guard" at the roof and the more decorative fence/gate in front isn't visually pleasing. Both should be from the same architectural design family, although they need not be identical. The windows appear to have quite a bit of small architectural detail as best I can make out from the photo. The railing in front seems to have a scale that is better relative to those window details than does the "guard" at the roof, so I would probably opt for changing the roof "guard", not the railing in front. If do-able dollar-wise, It might be even better to remove both the roof "guard" and the railing/gate in front and design something new for these areas that is a good match with the most striking details elsewhere on the house....See MoreWhich exterior would u choose

Comments (4)In my opinion a great combination for your exterior walls, especially if you're interested in sustainability, would be a mix of light gray with a subtle touch of blue. This blend creates a modern and calming look while considering solar options. You could go for a light gray base and then add blue accents or trims. Additionally, you can install solar rooftop system into your house design to enhance energy efficiency and add an eco-friendly touch to your home....See Moredesignerblock
