Bent beam overhang?

I have a small sloped overhang above a door like this and would love to add on the trellis overhang you have designed here. How are you supporting it?

    Lezley,

    The trellis is supported (4) larger framed wood members. You can see them in the photo above. The small pieces are then attached to the top of those.

    Thanks for getting back to me. What I don't get is that the beam supporting the wood stats does not extend back to the wall; it seems to be a continuation of the rafter tail which is not flat like the trellis support beam. Thus, the look is as if the tail is a bent beam. Was it carved from the end of the rafter? Is there a metal strap that ties the horizontal beam to the rafter tail/beam?
