Need help on my Centre Table
Comments (11)I do like the design. Quite a lot. It's modern and sophisticated. I really like the subtle detail of the base top being inset to create a reveal right under the sunmica top. I assume the width and length of the sunmica top is exactly the same as the base, it seems that way from the drawing. I like that too, it makes the reveal more purposeful. The short sides are best left plain as i think you planned. You don't show the short side so I'll assume the base connects at the top and bottom, and the field open. I like the antique polished gold for the base. I like it in concept, I don't know the room it will go in. You're very on track, so I'm sure that is the right finish for your space. For the top carving, again I like the deep brown polish. I think it adds more to the piece by having another finish. I'm curious about the overall height. What is it? Also, the table is large. Not huge, but large. I don't think you need to make it smaller, I just want to bring this to your attention so you make sure it will fit in your space properly. Finally, the mirror. Are you using a plain mirror? Smoked glass mirror or a mirror with a slight antiquing would be great....See MoreBar Chairs for Dining Table
Comments (12)Yes, JudyG that's exactly the way people were using the taller table. Sort of a café look, or casual bar setting. One home had a beautiful huge kitchen all done in white with dark wood floors and RH style fixtures and hardware. Where you would normally think would be a traditional dining room, they had made it up with a large high table and 6 barstools. It almost looked like an extension of the island. Another one was in a very open and light kitchen. It was smaller and where you might think of putting a breakfast nook they had a round café-style table with four barstools. I liked it because it gave a more casual appearance. If people were sitting at them, they were on the same level as those working in the kitchen. Almost like a bar at the island for that effect, but with some separation....See MoreKitchen nook dining table
Comments (4)If I am having trouble finding a rectangle glass top table I usually order the glass from a local (to the location of my Client) glass shop and then the base from one of my furniture vendors. a dark table with your light chairs should not feel dark given that it is in a room with what looks to be lots of light with the large glass door and side window. I do think the glass would be perfect for the area. What size table are you thinking will fit the best in the space and for your needs?...See MoreLooking for Stone table top
Comments (5)Thanks for your reply. Here if you see the picture. There is a groove at the centre, initially i was planning to place natural stone on that, thats why made a groove. but when i was having lunch , i found not enough space for keeping food/utensils. Due to small width, and if I increase the width of table top - both sides by 3 inches, it will suit me perfect. So if I place a clear glass on top, what should I place at the central part. How to manage that groove, I am thinking about putting stone pebbles. Another option - I can place glass at the center and for sides, can place stone slabs. Again, do you think, should i fix stone over there. It will fit the groove....See MoreCynthia Holden
