Comments (5)I am not a designer. Not every house has to have a hallway but I wonder about efficiency problem: people crossing into dining table/chairs to get beyond to another room. There just has to be enough room I guess....See MorePlease suggest LED strip /tube color for living area.
Comments (5)I've been wanting motion sensing night lights forever! We've always used little night lights in our family room. Usually buy them at the dollar stores so they don't last long. But this time I finally got my motion sensor night light. This came in a 2 pack, but I'm only using one for the family room until I can figure out where I want to put the other one or just decide to keep it for back up. It comes with a magnetic 3M strip and a regular 3M strip and both are a good grip. The light itself feels like a good quality. The LEDs are very bright and give off good light for the room. I like that it's rechargeable and frees up my electrical outlet. I love the motion sensor feature and it works fairly well most of the time. Sometimes it's sensitive enough to trigger like 10 feet away. Other times it can't sense closer, even when I move right in front of it, and seems to be a little delayed. But then I was testing it while the TV was on. Maybe it will do better in complete darkness....See Moreplease suggest me how to decorate the top of kitchen cabinets..
Comments (9)this is looking good. finally someone on houzz has listened! Thank you. I would leave it as it is since any items you place up there needs to be maintained and that is one more task we would be adding to the lady of the houzz. but if you are still wanting to add something for that first client impression may be few large glass pickle jars or just two of three colourful glass sculptures. as would perhaps know - less is more in modern design....See MoreIsland or a peninsular Kitchen. Suggestions please?

You have a very interesting layout and multiple options can be planned based on your need. For your kitchen, I would recommend a breakfast counter adjacent to the open end of the counter facing the dining area. 1. The extended breakfast counter will act like a serving counter. When having your meals, you would want to immediately serve the warm food from the serving counter and not walk inside the kitchen. This is a good practice as you can serve your guests quicker and in a much organized manner. While your meals are on the serving counter, the kitchen is available for other activites like cleaning or preparing of additional meals. 2. Island counters are only helpful if you have a much bigger kitchen as it serves as a break between two platforms which are far apart. In your case, it will form a hinderance. 3. The breakfast counter will also provide a visual break and designate the kitchen space from other areas. I am attaching the plan marking the idea and location of breakfast counter.
