Hi Chelsea, I think your room looks really charming already. It's hard to tell colours on a monitor, but your couch and chairs look more gold than green on my screen. The existing chair colour seems to go well with the couch. Have you looked into reupholster you as it can be expensive, but can be worth it if chairs are well made and you want a custom look. Couple of thoughts to share, if you paint the walls a light grey the FP isn't going to stand out so much as a feature. If this is your plan you may want to consider replacing mirror above FP with art to bring more interest there. Also if you reupholster or change chairs you will have to introduce the couch colour in other areas of the room to balance it all out. The following is a photo representing a similar colour scheme as where you're headed. Notice how the couch colour is spread out, re: light fixture, blinds etc.

Sorry I didn't answer your rug question at all, but need more clarification of where you're headed design wise.

Hi Chelsea, I don't know if you've looked at area rug sites yet but two of my favorite manufacturers area www.nourison.com and www.momeni.com . They have a myriad of different design genres and multiple styles within each. The first thing is to see what appeals to you - after all, it's your home. Selecting the right color then depends on what your actual fabric and wall colors are - I agree with Marlene, it's hard to tell from your picture. BTW, Marlene's idea of replacing the mirror sounds great to me too. Good luck
