If I were you, I would put the tv on the end solid wall and float a pair of sofas in the room perpendicular to the tv wall. Then you'd have your tv and your fireplace at opposite ends of the room and you could enjoy either of them equally. I'm not sure how large your room is, but there may be room for another chair or two. You are best to draw up the room to scale and experiment with furniture dimensions to see what nicely fits there. Allow enough room for a coffee table or a large upholstered ottoman in the centre. Does this help?

HI -- If you could find a squared console or buffet cabinet that will fit against the side of your big cabinet that is close to the style and color of the big cabinet , then place the TV on top or hang the TV on the wall with a swing bracket . Then add a, just as long, floating shelf over top of the TV .at a level no higher than the top of the big cabinet. Ikea might have something that would work for you that is black or something you could paint to match your big cabinet.

A Rumford design is very shallow, has outward-flaring sides, a back that arches forward, a curve on the underside of the front lintel leading back to a broad slot-like flue with a flue chamber above it. The overall front opening is almost square, sometimes slightly taller than wide. Rumford fireplaces are very distinctive looking. Hi Kiran, Before you place any furniture here, you should rethink the existing layout. I would eliminate the 3 internal walls around the puja room, and convert the areas of the living, puja, dining and kitchen, into a singular larger space. This is simply for better air circulation and overall aesthetics of the flat - to make it feel larger. You will now have an open kitchen - which can be shut by either a glass sliding folding partition, or with a half wall with a breakfast bar. You can use furniture smartly to create privacy for individual areas. You can also change the locations of the doors to the bedrooms, by not having them from the dining space, but from the passage outside the bathrooms; so that a larger table right in the centre with a dining credenza by one of the walls, thereby making the dining space a bit enclosed and not accessible from 3 sides. To answer your main question, you can have the television on the common wall between the living and bathroom (5'x8'); an L-shaped sofa can be placed along the same wall as the entrance door.
