Need Ideas For Long Rectangular Hall
Here is the cad image of our house, I need help in arranging furniture at right place....for me its very difficult to decide coz the hall is too long. where to keep tv? sofa arrangment? Can I adjust dinning area in hall? what to do with entrance area. thanks in advance :)

10 years agoI don't have your measurements, so I just guessed. Here is your 'hall'. I didn't include the bump out at the top ( not sure what that is ). In this mock up, I wall mounted your TV on the wall on the right ( so on the wall next to the study). I kept your dining table close to the kitchen for easy access. I also added a console table behind the sofa to help define the living room area from the dining room area. I don't know if you have carpeting, but if not, then adding an area rug under your sofa and accent chairs, will help to define that space too. Hope this gives you some ideas:

Diane Land thank you soo much .....loved the idea of keeping console behind the sofa & the rug idea....but dining area at front portion is something different for me coz I am very used to see living area as we enter in the house.

Comments (21)HI -- Well this is a nice floor plan but it creates problems . Because the space is all open doesn't mean you have to put the living room or the dining room where indicated on the plan . Also where you have marked for the sofa is not going to work there . Not enough room and in the way of getting to the bathroom etc, I do think you may have to have a free floating TV stand between the living -dining rooms . You could have the TV on the wall beside the kitchen and have the sofa facing or on the left wall and the dining at the front . I would put the TV on the left wall near the entrance and have the sofa facing it , leaving a hallway walking space behind the sofa . It's too bad the front entrance is on the left . If it had been on the right then that would be better flow into the center of the main floor . If you do decide to have the TV room divider where you show on the plan , keep it right over to the left wall as a room divider , then it won't cut the room in half so much and it keeps the stairwell open .
