The client is elderly and wanted movable cabinets so it can be moved for cleaning and for air circulation. I have to admit it the kitchen doesnot smell at all. We also designed a tv cabinet for the house on wheels so that its easy to move.

Sujithra, Good that you asked. When the cabinets are made in factories they are made a tad smaller than your actual requirement or as per the standard size made by the vendor. Smaller size helps them to make sure it fits in your space. Once a smaller product is fitted in a bigger space - the remaining gap is filled with a 'filler'. Its usually made in the same finish as the shutters so that they are less noticeable. No, it is not essential for the cabinet door to function properly but more for aesthetics. However, teak is costlier but has many a variants, please recheck the details if it is First Quality or Burma team. Pricing is usually due to the details. Clients are often duped by initial low-ball offers. Go with one who has better client feedback.
