I still like painted feature walls even though they're not super popular at the moment. Depending on how much natural light you have into the rooms will determine the colours. As will your furniture, your style you're aiming for. A wallpapered feature wall with some quality paper could be an option too.

What colour are the floorboards? Are the rooms you're considering painting all have windows facing in same direction? What sort of natural light do the rooms get?

You could keep the walls white and dress your windows with timber venetian blinds... It looks so nice to match your blinds with your floor - check out the look in this photo and let me know what you think ...
