If I were you, I would put the tv on the end solid wall and float a pair of sofas in the room perpendicular to the tv wall. Then you'd have your tv and your fireplace at opposite ends of the room and you could enjoy either of them equally. I'm not sure how large your room is, but there may be room for another chair or two. You are best to draw up the room to scale and experiment with furniture dimensions to see what nicely fits there. Allow enough room for a coffee table or a large upholstered ottoman in the centre. Does this help?

Hi, Congratulations on your new home! It seems really lovely place. I'd like to know whether are you planning on renovating whole space or just changing the furniture? If you are only going for furniture, here are few images of couch attached, please have a look. I say, align the couch along the walls so that you can get more area to use. Go for regular couch and chairs. If I'm not wrong TV is placed above the fireplace. Suggestion: bring it to eye level. TV is normally placed at the height of an average 30". This is a floor to cathedral red brick fireplace that I'm trying to update to a more transitional look. I have looked into painting or limewashing white but I feel like there will be alot of painted lines and could be busy. I also think that looks like the budget option. While I AM on a budget, I'd like to investigate more options stucco over the brick? drywalling the brick? Ideas? I can't change the orange peel textured walls or the dark hardwood floors or the fireplace box itself. The hearth goes across to the window wall and sticks out 2 1/2 feet. I have enclosed 3 pics for more clarity. Thxs for any help!

Any ideas what to do with this space. The wall on right has access to master bedroom. To the left is the breakfast nook and access to the kitchen. The entry way leads directly into the living room and to the left is the dining room area, which I want to use as multipurpose (that allows kids to play) etc. Any ideas? The walls just seem to separated, do I have the furniture closer together?
