Hi Briedy, if you look closely enough there is a supporting wall coming off the main wall. In this supporting wall there is a steel stringer with steel plates which the treads are fixed to. This creates floating cantilevered look!

One possibility would be to swap the living room and the dining room. Since the current living room is larger than the current dining room you could still keep some comfortable seating (couch and upholstered chairs?) against the front wall for a keeping room/dining concept. Then your new dining areas (kitchen and dining room) and living areas (living and drawing room) would have good flow between them, which would work well both for family and entertaining. You could also add some builtin bookshelves in the drawing room or new living room to create a library area to add another fun element to the living areas. These bookshelves could be against the long walls in the drawing room, around the window with a window seat in the living room (former dining room), or built to create some separation in the open area between the drawing room and living room/stair area. Your plan seems to show some sort of builtin there, but I'm not sure what it is.

A houzz contributor, not too long ago, had made a wine rack out of 4'x4' wooden pallets, that are used in the US to move a load of goods with a fork-lift truck. Perhaps they have them in your country. He cut them in half so they were only two feet deep and stacked them up to high counter height. The wood would be a nice contrast with your concrete, might add a little warmth to the space. cascio.offsite@gmail.com

I would stick with the classic neutrals - creams and whites. You can always decorate around classic colors. If you go with something like green or black you will always be limited. Best of luck! Post pictures when you are done, I would love to see how it turns out. [houzz=] [houzz=] [houzz=]

Hi mrsahsan! Your staircase certainly looks lovely, someone did a great job on that cut string by the looks of it. Would you be able to send us a couple more photos, preferably of the side of the flight as well? And the Landing? Also, what sort of style is it that you are looking for? Is there anything that you currently like the look of? I'd recommend having a look through our Staircase Gallery, hopefully this will give you a little inspiration.
