Not really sure what you're asking. Interior door? Exterior door? Every door is made from different materials. Solid core is different than hollow core. Some are fiberglass. But your basic water based paint works on most doors. Doors are usually painted in a semi-gloss finish as is trim.

Its a really lovely room! what a great place for kids to share. I like kids sharing rooms. I think you need another colour to tie it together. I would suggest a blue tone.... teal, navy blue, duck egg blue. to tie it together. Its a little to pale and looks sparse, but actually isn't. I would leave everything exactly as is, BUT, paint the back wall behind the bed teal and find a simple navy blue wall decal that is fun and kid- like maybe one with a sillouette of a boy and girl playing. I would paint the wall behind the sofa duck egg blue. Then I think it would suit both kids more and look more kid friendly. the blues will balance the pink and cream, but because you have a pale carpet i don't think it will look too dark. don't worry about making it totally kid like, its a room they will grow with, not a kindergarten, and it also needs to peaceful and restful for sleeping. besides with their art on the walls and bright toys everywhere it soon looks bright and kid like. Ah, okay. It is a bed then. It can be converted into terrific seating with cushions, maybe a long bolster against the wall. I like Studio10001's suggestions. Going back to Chookchook's comment up top, I suggest that the first thing you do is find sheets or fabric your daughter would like for her bed and when the two of you have decided on that, post a picture of the fabric here and we can all pitch in with further colour (and other) suggestions. I'm intrigued by what's hanging on the lines strung across the room. ?

Leather sofas can really dominate the room and can give an overall cold feeling. I would add some earthy elements, like a wood coffee table with glass or metal. Go to Restoration Hardware's website and look at their sofa room scenes. And I'm sorry I think the art is too harsh for the room. That's all your eye goes to in the room. too overpowering. I would look for something softer or maybe a cool mirror and I would add color to the room with pillows and some colorful lamps. I also think woven blinds would look great. They add warmth and give a finished look. The color of your window treatments should contrast your wall color a bit, not match it or else it starts to look generic and blah.. You have warm walls, warm floors and the woven blinds, like Hunter Douglas brand would pull it all together for you.
