What kind of balusters can I use?

I believe these balusters do not fit the style of the home. There is wainscot on the wall which seems more Traditional but the balusters look more modern. It is a steep staircase and am worried that a standard size will not work. Any suggestions?

How wide are the stairs?
If they are at least 3' wide you could lose the deck balusters and set the new ones on top of the steps with a more traditional handrail.

A shaker style railing would suit that staircase perfectly. If the steps are not wide enough than maybe using wrought iron may solve that dilemma.
