Recliners or no recliners ?

My media room -20'x 12' sized long -falls in between my drawing room and dining room - the passage crossing exactly at the middle of the 20' length , at one end is the tv unit -opposite wall has bar end at one corner . My better half is keen on two sets of two recliners - four seats- for watching Tv . He wants regular sofa - three plus two sweaters near bar . Recliner would be facing the tv obviously - sofa would be against the wall facing tv . I'm not sure how to work it out . Please suggest .

Do you have a floor plan or photos? What you can do is, using newspapers/paper, cut out the furniture sizes and place in the room. Does it all fit? You can also use paper towels, as most are 1' x 1'.

Agree with a scaled floor plan in order to configure the room properly.

Here are more pictures. Main door is exactly opposite the big opening. Forgive my ignorance, as I wasn't aware they are not called french windows. Since there is not much space between the main door and the big windows, I don't want to stuff it with furniture. Also, since we like big spaces, we would like to keep it as simple as possible. Anyway, my main concern right now is whether the bamboo blinds will work for these big windows, or they will give a stuffed look as soon one enters?

I think kitchen and eating area should be next to each other and kitchen should be near or next to an entry for ease in putting away food stuff. The sitting area should be near an outside view to add relaxed vibe to area and the TV should be opposite sofa for easy viewing.....sometimes necessary to move the TV and rewire accordingly. Good luck.

Whites: Pearl white, Oxford white, Yellows: banana cream yellow, Gray: light gray, atmospheric blue go well with black an gray sofa. You can try keeping carpet near 3 seater sofa and center table on it, with larger end towards 3 seater.

Thanks hatetoshop and dytecture , I agree that a floor plan is required . The space is adequate I say - will the recliners look good facing away from rest of the people and almost in the passage from one room to another ?

Recliners . Yes ! As it was the ONLY essential item for a house according to the man of house . So we bought it . Actually two of it . I didn't like it to be placed facing the TV always as it would disrupt the harmony . Thanks to La-z boys - got two swivel fitted ones . One swoosh and it tours toward TV .yep !!
