You could also bring in some texture with bamboo sticks or decorative branches and help balance a bit the height of your room with small scale furniture. I would get a coffee table similiar to the one in your other room. This area is small so I think a glass top for this room would be best. Try a round table with a pedestal. That would give you more leg room. Because all the cushions and the drapes have a pattern I think you should choose a rug with no pattern. A solid light gray would look nice. To contrast all of the smooth textures of the red upholstery and the dining chair's cushion, pick something with a high pile. Very soft! Change out the pillows on the sofas to a soft gray on gray pattern.

You need to create two sitting areas within the space, and pull them into the room (get them off the wall), also I can see from the fantastic chandelier that you have, that the dining table must stay where it is. I would recommend you go with 3 large area rugs, at least 10x12 looking at the size of your room. I feel partitions are not needed. You already have too much for the space. Adding a partition will shrink the space further. The simplistic solution, you do not wish to discard any furniture would be to paint all the walls in lighter pastles. And use some wall painting frames to highlight certain walls.
