“This is the second time i deal with Frank. Joe is his brother and CEO. Both are very understanding and willing to go the extra mile. The price was was good and so was the service he provided. The warehouse is full of slabs that you can walk around and pick what you think the best match in color, thickness and size. Frank came to the premises to take the measurements and was again a friendly time. Banu is the order desk, the answering machine and the customer service. She is so unique, Banu will recognize your voice the second time you call even though she has never met you. She is friendly and will look after you promptly. Frank arrived on the scene with 3 other guys, who placed carpets on the floor and proceeded to take down the old countertop in no time. Well, it is a family business and 2 of them were Frank's relatives which made the atmosphere that friendly. Tru is Chinese and is the technical guy who was the main one who cut the slab to measurments, refinished the pieces and was the one who did most of the intallation. He was more than willing to do whatever you ask and needed. The 4 of them carried in the sized up 2 very heavy pieces. Up the grass of the front, around the main entrance, up the 10 steps stairs, around the corner to the kitchen and gently, caculativley and cautiously placed the 2 pieces down. With a bit of rearranging and balancing the 2 pieces, they glued them together, drilled the whole for the kitchen faucete with one of the guys holding the nozel of the shop-vac close the drill to prevent dust flying all over the house then they glued the sink under the granite countertop as well caulking all around the back splash and underneath the countertop. At the end, the granite countertop was sealed with a special granite sealer for protection. As they packed away their tools etc. they also loaded the old countertop on their truck and drove away. Yes, this was my second time to deal with Frank and i will do it again.”

The sales rep that I worked with was very insightful and knowledgeable about their products which made the whole process for me very easy. It was very reassuring to know that I was in good hands and that everything was going to be taken care of. “After seeing Broken Down Designs at the Interior Design Show in Toronto, I contacted Petar the owner for a consultation on my outdated fireplace that was my least favourite thing in my house. After a telephone conversation to talk about my space and what I was looking for, Petar sketched a few design options for me and outlined the various material options that would fit my price range. After a long deliberation, I managed to pick just one of his fabulous creations and we picked a material (granite) that went with my existing décor. Next came measurements and logistics and revisions to the design as we moved through the process, and then work began. Petar and his team not only removed the existing mantel, but made and installed the new one. Petar was responsive to my needs and was happy to talk through my options and provided so much more than just a contractor experience. When I discovered late in the project that Petar is actually a trained artist and sculptor, I knew that the finished mantel would be fantastic, and I couldn't be happier! All of my guests are so complimentary on my new fireplace, and I love that I have something that no one else has! I cannot recommend Petar and Broken Down Designs enough, and I am currently working with Petar to add a few matching side tables to the living room to really highlight the fireplace. I would note that, Broken Down Designs is not going to order some pre-fabricated mantel and try to make it fit - they do cost a bit more, but the customization and artistic services more than make up for it.”
