S&P Tile Installation, LLC
“Really skillful workmen. They have good design ideas, if you need that, and the quality of the work is great. They arrive on time. Prices are reasonable.”
NOLAN BROTHERS STONEWORKS & Specialty Contracting
“What an outstanding job! We hired him to update the countertop in our kitchen and the work exceeded our expectations.
Chris is easy to work with, excellent and careful with installation, and reasonably priced. While installing our countertop, he encountered a plumbing issue due to an old sink and not only identified it, but also brought in a plumber to fix it quickly. Great to work with someone who can do it all!”
LIMA CERAMIC TILE LLC
“Lima has the most tile I've ever seen crammed into a tiny space. Give yourself plenty of time to sort through the great selection. They placed my order and had it ready for pickup in 3 days.”
DBA D Lopez Tile and Marble Works
“Dario does great work. He shows up when he says he is going to, and gets the job done with the finest workmanship”
Garden State Soapstone
“We hired Jay for a custom soapstone sink and countertops. We originally contacted him for slate, but when we visited his company to choose a slab we fell in love with the soapstone. He did a great job, responded quickly when we had questions and templated and installed quickly when the contractor was ready. After using the sink and counters for about a month, we really love having soapstone and love how it looks!”
Ludlow Tile and Marble
“Ludlow Tile did a fantastic job on our bathroom remodel. The work was done timely, exactly as described, and appropriately priced. I appreciated the meticulous attention to detail that they had with our project. Michael helped us with design choices and always asked for our feedback before doing something major in the project. Michael was punctual, always showing up when he said he would, and respectful of our home by laying down carpet protector and sealing off the bathroom from the rest of the house. Very neat and orderly so we didn't feel like we were living in a construction zone. Highly recommended and looking forward to booking him for our other bathroom soon.”
UNIC Tiles
“Maryan and his team do all of our tiling when it comes to bathrooms, kitchens, etc. They always do exceptional work and know exactly what they are doing. My clients are always satisfied when I send Maryan and his crew to any job site. Highly recommend.”
UNITED GRANITE
“Very friendly place and prices that nobody can beat .
I use them for all my jobs .

American Granite Designs, Inc.
“We had a marble bathroom vanity installed by American Granite Designs and we are very satisfied with the outcome. They were very helpful in assisting us in selecting the best marble material for the installation. They were very knowledgeable and they went out of their way to ensure that we were completely satisfied. Highly recommend.”
Empire Cabinet and Marble, Inc.
“We recently completed our bathroom renovation in a 1946 building in Jackson Heights. It was a full-scale renovation - we took it right down to the studs. The centerpiece is a deep soaking tub with a marble tub surround and deck that I designed. For marble fabrication, I turned to Empire.
Empire had a remnant of just the kind of statuary marble I was looking for at just the size I needed. There was even some leftover that they cut into pieces for my shower niche, thresholds, and window sill. And because it was a remnant from a kitchen they had already finished, they quoted me a really good price.
Their installers were excellent. It took them about 4 hours and they were very patient and diligent. (The corner where the double apron meets the deck was a tricky bit that they had to hone on the spot.)
Before going to Empire I had read the mixed reviews on yelp - and having worked with them, I think I understand the issues.
I would use Empire again. For their great prices and great quality of fabrication and installation.
But just be aware that Lucy, the owner, is prickly. She really should not be dealing hands-on with customer service. Anna in the front office is a sweetheart. But in the end, Lucy calls the shots, and she is tough.
Two words of caution:
Negotiate the exact division of your payment up front. Read the agreement carefully. The industry standard is 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 payments. That is, 1/3 up front. 1/3 after inspecting fabrication. 1/3 after installation. But Empire will try to get you for all but a few $ at the second stage, before installation. This happened to me and it felt like swinging in the wind to pay Lucy almost 100% before final installation. My experience turned out okay, but if I had it to do again, I would have made sure it was the standard 1/3 at each phase.
The other thing that happened that I would caution about - nearing the end of the installation, one of the installers said he was running out to get something from his truck and asked my contractor for the keys so that he wouldn't have to buzz. My contractor handed them over without thinking.
Did you know that if the fabricator has your keys and the job goes sour, Empire is legally still in your apartment and can rip the whole thing out? Yep. So, word to the wise about that.
In the end, my renovation turned out great and I would use Empire again.”
