Their design met with all local building codes, complimented exquisitely well the existing structure, architecture, and colors of this 100+ year old house. The composite materials they selected met our requirements for sustainability, low maintenance, long life, warranty, beauty, function, cost. “Removal of a large pine tree and stump gave us the opportunity to expand and reconfigure the front entrance deck and steps into our house. My son and I are competent with the carpentry but did not have the time, skills or prowess to dig footings or pour pads. In addition, there were other possible timing issues so I was looking for someone who might be willing to do some aspects of the project but not necessarily all. Matt and Connor of Creative Spaces were recommended to me by a neighbor. I called and Matt came over the next day. We discussed the project and Matt came back the following day with a quote for (1) piers and pad, (2) ledger board, (3) deck structure (without decking), and (4) the complete project. Not all companies are willing to take on only part of a project – it’s all or nothing. Based on costs and other factors, we elected to go with (1) and (2) from Creative Spaces and do the rest on our own. As a small (two-day) project, they were able to schedule it quickly and showed up as agreed. The work went smoothly. The workmanship was excellent and professional. Matt and Connor were a pleasure to have around and even provided helpful advice on aspects of the project they weren’t doing. I have no reservation recommending Matt and Connor of Creative Spaces!”

Mickey and Jeremy (New Hampshire Windows and Siding), found the problems with the siding and flashing and found additional issues with the roofing materials and a skylight. They quickly resolved the issues, and now, after this weekend storm......no leaks!!!! Thanks Mickey and Jeremy! They did impeccable work and cleaned up completely. We have additional projects for them in the future, we highly recommend New Hampshire Windows and Siding!”

“We didn't end up hiring John Canty, but we probably should have! Our house is in need of a full gut job. John was very helpful and knowledgeable when he came in to look at our house. We ended up hiring another contractor, who we have since fired, because he worked with a friend a friend of ours. We should have known that you need to mesh with your GC and create good communication lines with them -- we learned quickly that just because a GC worked well with someone you know, it doesn't mean they'll work well with you! John was very upfront and honest about the costs and quality of the job we'd get, and we should have trusted our gut instinct to hire him! It's been 4 months and we're still waiting to get started on our house.”

“I used J.R. Heald Custom Carpentry to install a large (38X12), elevated deck using Trex products. I was extremely pleased with the finished product and enjoyed working with Justin. The deck was completed on time and on budget. Justin's professionalism started with his proposal. Justin sent me a nine-page proposal that included a detailed scope of work and an approximate completion timeframe. When contrasted with the other company's one-page proposal with few details beyond the price, I easily chose Justin. Justin's price was comparable to the other company, even with the extra cost of installing the Trex on a diagonal and some other niceties the other bid didn't include. Justin used a helical pile product instead of concrete footings. The helical pile was quickly installed, gave a measurable load bearing capacity, and created minimal mess. Justin suggested that I go with the black balusters which I never would have considered on my own. What a great suggestion! They blend right in and don't detract from the view. Justin was the type of contractor I felt comfortable leaving unsupervised at my home; his crew was equally respectable. Justin showed up every day and worked the full day; he didn't hop between jobs like some contractors do. His attention to detail was spectacular. He even ran a magnet over my yard, so my daughter wouldn't step on a nail. I would highly recommend J.R. Heald Custom Carpentry.”
