The choice of colors, style and texture made my home exactly how I wanted, but I did not know how to get there. She has an easy going team of contractors that also works hard and on time. “Our experience with Caryn Paradis was excellent from start to finish. We had an unfinished basement that we wanted to finish and didn't know where to begin. Caryn talked with us in detail about how we wanted to use our basement and then came up with plans that included all of our needs as well as ideas that we hadn't even considered but should have. She was able to design a space that incorporated areas for everyone in our family, including our young son--even a stage that could be pulled apart for use as couches when he becomes a teenager! Because we live in separate states, Caryn was able to do much of the work remotely with minimal visits to our home to take measurements, etc. She had finish samples sent directly to us quickly and walked us through the decision making process. She designed specific requests, such as a fireplace for my husband and a guest room/office area. Caryn paid attention not only to the aesthetics of the job, but also the practicalities, such as outlet placement and HVAC. She also included amenities such as a well-placed dorm fridge which will come in handy when our son is old enough to use the space as a hang-out with friends. All in all, the job was smooth, well-designed and surprisingly painless. Caryn listened to our needs and then exceeded them. We would recommend her without reservation.”

“We worked with Hartley & Hill Design to completely renovate and redesign our kitchen last summer. They were fantastic and we cannot say enough about how wonderful they were. We met with them and described the concepts that we wanted (functional and classic, keeping in mind that we like to entertain, but we have small children and a busy family life). They put together the design and sat down with us to explain their ideas very thoroughly and also run through the budget. They came up with a fantastic design that we never would have thought possible, incorporating very creative ideas, while still keeping in mind our budget as well as our personal preferences. It was a very collaborative process, with us being as involved as we wanted to be, but not feeling like we had to manage a project; they expertly managed the project for us! All of the subcontractors they hired were first class. The renovation was very well organized, there was consistent open communication, any hiccups along the way (as will happen in any project this size) were managed smoothly and effectively. Needless to say, we are thrilled with the end result. We can't wait to use them again soon to redesign our dining room/living room area. We would highly recommend them!”

“Elaine was a delight to work with. She was very responsive which was such a nice surprise when working with a contractor. She remodeled our kitchen, living room, and bathroom. I have champagne taste and a beer budget. Elaine was communicative, found great substitutes that were in our price range, and gave us a lot of choices. Any issues we have had she immediately responds and coordinates a solution within 24 hrs. Her team was really pleasant to work with.”

“I live out of state and needed someone to help me orchestrate the furnishing of my second home. Sue Jucker was definitely well suited for fulfilling my needs. She consistently goes the extra mile to satisfy the customer. She is knowledgeable and gifted in interior design. She knows the Ethan Allen product line very well and is consistent in being able to recommend the perfect room décor ideas. Sue managed to capture the look of my dreams and made the whole experience totally enjoyable and positive. I was blessed to have met her.”

“Jeanne was amazing to work with. This project was particularly challenging as we purchased a house from a developer mid construction so had to work with existing elements that had already been selected and blend them with our aesthetic. She helped us select everything: tile, plumbing fixtures, doors, hardware, lighting, counters, backsplash, paint and furnishings to create our dream home! Throughout the process she has been super responsive, organized, detailed, and just a pleasure to work with. We could not had a better experience!”

“We used Danielli and her team to remodel a condominium. She handled every aspect of the job including the design, hiring the contractors, demolition and rebuild. We are very happy with the results. We now rent the unit out at a premium rent. Everyone who sees the place comments on how beautiful it is. I recommend Danielli for any project and intend to work with her again.”

“I've worked with Kristen on several design projects in my home and she consistently over-delivers on offering great advice and creative solutions. Kristen always listens to ensure she understands what I'm trying to achieve, then provides the right balance of guidance and direction to find the right solution for each individual challenge. She is extremely responsive, accurate and we always have a good time. Kristen delivers great customer service as well. Even if I don't have an "active" project in the works, she will share ideas and inspiration on a regular basis. I always love seeing her emails pop up in my inbox! I highly recommend Kristen!!”

“I was overwhelmed on how to arrange a room to fit two office desks, make it into an entertainment room and storage. Lauren to the rescue...she came to the house, we discussed my thoughts, budget, she measured the room, she knew we can use many of my existing furniture and recommended some add ons. Lauren sent me a few layouts, proposed budget, which she came in under budget, and called me to discuss. Lauren listened and delivered! I’m so happy with the outcome. Love, Love my new room! I highly recommend Lauren!! You helped me and my family be more comfortable ..thank you! Yvette Donohue”

“I first hired Kirsten in Aug. 2008 to redecorate two bedrooms. Since then, she has gone on to redo all the rooms in my house (some of which can be seen on her web site and on houzz). After almost four years,we are the last room, the library. Kirsten turned a dark and dated house into a delightful and comfortable home. When we started I thought I knew how I wanted the place to feel but not how it should look to get that way. From our first meeting, Kirsten patiently and carefully listened. She gracefully accepted that I wanted to shop at vintage and antique stores and wanted to be more hands on than most customers, but she was always gently in control of the process. It is impossible to talk about details since the job entailed completely redoing six rooms (including the kitchen) and two baths. Kirsten does fabulous work for a fair price and always puts the customer's interests first. She is beloved by the trades people she works with because she is kind and very nice, but she really gets the job done. My only regret is that I have run out of rooms for her to work on. If you live in Connecticut, and you need a designer, hire this woman. You will be very happy.”
