“Authentic Home was recommended to me by a friend when I bought my house in May 2011. I worked closely with Kathy Banak from May 2011 to December 2012 on transforming my home. Everything from paint colors and lighting and window dressings, to transforming several rooms with new layout & shelving and new Carrera marble fireplaces, to complete home furnishings for a 5 bedroom home. We even installed a new water softening system sourced by Kathy! Kathy's eye for color and subtle variations of color is incredible! She has really listened to me and learned my preferences and style, and, indeed, helped me to refine, explore, and 'own' that style now way beyond my early nascent ideas! She was relentless in tracking down the perfect item for each room for me. She is deeply creative and innovative in her thinking about what is possible: everything from reupholstering furniture in new luxurious silver and seafoam velvets, to repainting dark wrought iron pieces in light silver, to using custom designed mirrors as impactful accent walls, and to creating custom bed linens and accent pillows in each bedroom and livingroom. When I come home from work every day, I walk into a house filled with serenity and light and unique style. All my friends gather at my house for events rather than restaurants because it's now their favorite place! :-) Kathy and Authentic Home have given me so much joy in my new home.
