“We didn't know what to expect when hiring an independent interior designer, but all I can say is WOW! We had previously engaged interior designers at Ethan Allen, but I hazard to guess that they would never have been able to create the look Melinda gave my son's room -- which so aptly reflects his personality. She really took the time to understand what my son liked and didn't like. Since she has sons of her own, she was very good relating to a 16 year old. Her creativity is just... WOW. In addition to selecting everything from furniture, window treatments, ceiling fan, lamps, to duvet and pillows, she chose paint colors for my son's room (hints of lavender) that I would never have even imagined. Orange and purple?? Who would have thought! We are all very jealous of the originality and togetherness of his room. And, she worked with my budget. I didn't have to feel uncomfortable expressing what I could and couldn't afford. For instance, she gave us a budget for painting, and then we determined that we would paint ourselves to save cost.
