“I recently purchased a stone table that resembles a tree stump, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Not only was it delivered promptly, but working with Ryder, the maker, was an absolute pleasure. The table now serves as a stunning centerpiece in my front yard, adding a touch of natural elegance to the space. Its craftsmanship and design truly exceed my expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add a unique and beautiful element to their outdoor decor.”

“Belmar Upholstry in San Francisco has been my go to source for over 10 years. I can count on them to produce the highest quality of upholstered goods, all executed perfectly. I can count on these pieces to last. And to be supremely comfortable. When you use a Belmar sofa, I call it the Cadillac of seating. So comfortable! Marcus knows everything there is to know about upholstery and you can count on him to get all the details just right. I can design a very complicated piece and he will know how to make it turn out perfectly! this is the place to go for quality that LASTS!”

“Kirk is an exceptionally talented sculptor, as well as a consummate professional. His work speaks for itself--his bronzes show both uncanny realism as well as a lyrical genius. He is extremely easy to communicate with and would be an exceptional artist to work with for custom commissioned projects.”

“My partner and I engaged with Michael a few months ago because we were unhappy with some of our present furniture, carpets and the overall feel of our condo. We had recently worked with a designer and had a less than stellar experience and result. We interviewed a few designers for this relatively small project and we both liked Michael right away. We explained our vision of "warming up" our condo, which had been decorated a bit more modern that we liked; we had not found it to functional or inviting. We emphasized that we wanted to remain in-budget if possible but were open to suggestions that might bring us a bit over if we felt it was worth it. I have worked with three other designers in the past, and I must say that Michael was by far the most budget conscious. We asked to be billed weekly and for regular, easy to understand accounting, and that is just what he provided. Michael was reliable, patient and professional through the entire process; bills for his time were reasonable and appropriate. Michael has a great eye for color and detail, and he came up with some really great ideas. For example, he suggested that we extend an existing surface in the guest bedroom/office to create an inexpensive work space that is both attractive and functional. He also brought in a plumber and painter who were willing to complete some really small but important jobs for us. Michael has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I will definitely contact him for any future projects I might have and I recommend him without hesitation. Oh and by the way, our home looks great - it's warm, comfortable and inviting. . . just what we wanted!”

Vorrath Woodworks

“I went to Adam Vorrath because I wanted to get a friend who was turning 70 years old, a very special present to honor the length of our friendship, and her spectacular feat of becoming 70 years old, and being, well, for lack of a better word, spectacular. That is my friend Elsa. She has style, grace, panache, and a terrific sense of art and creation. And lucky me, I knew a spectacular artist named Adam Vorrath, an adventurer in wood in all of its possible forms and fabrications, one of the spectacular artists who graduated from the College of the Redwoods Advanced Woodworking program. So I asked him to do this. What happened was beyond what I realized would happen. From the simple request for a special table came an entire experience of sharing in the creation of a special object that spoke to the person it was made for. Adam and Elsa met at her house, and had a sit down chat, talking to each other, and talking about what Elsa liked. Adam saw the art that she has collected slowly over the years, from her native Denmark to New York, to San Francisco, and now Sausalito, and the two got to know each other, so that when Adam came away from the place where the table would reside, he had more than just a sense of the space, he had a sense of the person he was making the table for. Because of this, Elsa has a table that she tells me makes her smile every time she walks in her living room. She notices all of its details, the choices made by the artist and recalls their discussions and sees herself in what was made for her. It is this last thing that makes me say that one of the most wonderful and lasting and truly special thing that you can do for another person is to bring them into the process of the making of furniture as art as we did here. Because now whenever I am at Elsa’s house visiting an incredible sense of glee overcomes me seeing the table and knowing how much it has been loved and is loved, from start to present day and every day.”
