“We worked with HDR Remodeling twice in our Oakland condo: once in 2007 to convert a hall closet into a laundry closet. Most recently in May-June 2012 to remodel and repaint the whole condo after a major mold remediation. In 2007 we purchased a washer & dryer and needed a closet fixed up to accommodate them. We interviewed a few contractors, but were most impressed with Philip's experience and went with him. His pricing was not the lowest of the contractors we met, but not overly high either. And as with our most recent project, we feel we got quality work for our price. Each professional who came in for their piece of the job (plumber, carpenter, electrician, etc.) was courteous and all of them worked quickly and efficiently to complete the job on time. They could have used sturdier shelving, but it's held up okay these past 5 years. This spring we needed to remodel the condo in preparation for sale. After our move out of the condo last year, we had mold remediation throughout the condo so all our bamboo flooring was taken out, a foot or more of drywall was removed from many interior walls and our bedroom windows were stripped down to the studs. HDR replaced all the drywall, covered the window frames, painted the entire condo, put down new carpeting and replaced a broken sliding door screen. Since we were out of state, Philip did his initial walk-through while on the phone with me then sent photos regularly so we were completely updated each step of the way. The work was done in a timely and efficient manner with HDR sourcing all the materials and workers. Overall I recommend HDR for their excellent customer service, friendly and competent workers and long-time experience. Their prices are a bit high, but not unreasonable for the quality work we've seen.”

“G Family Construction are nice people who are easy to talk to. They listened to my ideas and gave me some additional ideas which improved my plan. An additional window was installed and two French doors replaced old sliders and single door. Additional carpentry work for cabinets, etc. On the eⅹterior French drains were installed and a sump pump was installed in basement.”

“Leff Construction renovated our house, added on a sun room, built decks surrounding our house, changed the roofline because of the add on, and installed landscaping. They worked on our home, improving it from one end to the other, for over a year. During that time they showed up every day, provided top rate work, both from their construction crew and their sub contractors, and remained respectful and helpful throughout. The billing was clear and honest. Whenever something needed correcting (which was seldom), it was accomplished quickly and thoroughly. To attest to how much I respect Leff Construction, we have become good friends with Dave Leff, and I have served on a nonprofit board with him for several years. I know that's a rare and precious outcome from a house remodel. I continue to ask his company to do small jobs for us when they occur, and I recommend him highly to anyone undertaking construction or remodeling.”

“Kaeso Maas of Adventus Group has been helping us develop a vision for a large addition of a property we recently bought on Panoramic Highway in Mill Valley. While the actual work will not commence until a year from now Kaeso and his team were able to provide us with comfort that this is a property with endless possibilities to create a great living environment and add value for the long term. Ideas for typical California coastal living (we're only 15 minutes from Stinson Beach and can see the ocean from our house) and quintessential Mill Valley living were both explored. While there are a lot of architectural and design firms out there, Adventus Group really stands out to us for their creative thinking, responsiveness and broad experience in design and construction. We're looking forward to continue to work with Kaeso Maas when we get to the design and construction phase.”

“After losing our home in Santa Rosa in the 2017 fires, we decided to rebuild and chose Salt Shed Design and Build. We chose them because we knew they could take this project from start to finish and because we loved the contemporary California design they are famous for and quality of construction they can provide. In the chaotic post fire environment of our area, the Salt Shed team proved to be the steady and reliable entity we needed. We worked with a team of professionals in their specific fields that guided us through the innumerable choices and decisions since the very start. We had no experience building a home and did not know what to expect. In addition we were quite shaken and in shock after loosing our home and its contents so suddenly. Everybody at Salt Shed was always responsive and patient with us. We communicated with them weekly through emails, texts, teleconferences, and in person. We were in constant connection directly with the CEO, Matthew, with our fantastic project manager, Jordan, and our interior designer extraordinaire, Michael. Communication is key in this long and complicated process, and the team assigned to our project showed there is a strong network among them and a solid company structure. Jordan, Michael, and Matthew always welcome us and discuss with us our ideas while giving their advice with generosity and consideration. They care about our project and it shows in the quality of materials and labor they choose for us.
