“I thought that finding an honest contractor who follows through with what they promise would be impossible but decided to take the chance with Essential and finally do my first renovation. I was very nervous at first but the contractor Peter was extremely patient and was with me every step of the way. His team which included a talented designer put together a picture perfect kitchen, powder bathroom and master bedroom bathroom. I was blown away by the attention to detail and if you’re looking for a wonderful experience limiting your stress level for such a major project then Peter and his team are a great fit.”

“Smart Design helped us with design and install, removing a large old gravel based driveway, and replacing with concrete. They also designed a new entryway and back patio for us. The whole process was amazing, Segev was extremely organized, responded immediately, and the finished product is better than we hoped! I highly recommend Smart Design!”

“Center Island is a professional company that delivers what it promises. My husband and I contracted them for a large project in 2010 which was completed in a timely manner, on budget, and done very well. Caleb was available every step of the way to answer questions and solve any problems that arose. The staff who worked on our project were friendly, knowledgeable, and cleaned up when they left for the day. We will definitely call Center Island for any future projects.”

“Pulatani Builders transformed my outdated ( at the time of purchase ) Hell’s Kitchen loft into my “forever home.” Alex and his team went above and beyond as far as craftsmanship is concerned , and what’s more impressive is that my building’s super actually got along great with him and his team as well. This was largely because of the standards they maintain as far as dust and protection of common spaces is concerned. A+ job , happy to endorse and recommend them for any renovations in NYC.”
Showcase Kitchen & Bath

“I hired Showcase to renovate and expand a newly purchased home in Glen RIdge, New Jersey. The project lasted over 15 months in duration and involved renovating the entire house and expanding the home from 2600 square feet (excluding the basement) to 4450 square feet (approximately 5950 square feet including the fully finished basement). The project included a new family room, gym, sauna, downstairs bath, master bedroom, office and master bath. The existing kitchen and three and half baths were demolished and redone. New trim, windows, doors and closets were also installed throughout the original structure. Finally, all the plumbing, heating and air conditioning and electrical systems were replaced. I have extensive experience working with contractors. At my previous home I undertook seven separate remodeling projects ranging from bath and kitchen renovations to the addition of a family room and master suite. I also built a 3000 square foot architectually designed second home in Wisconsin. SHOWCASE WAS BY FAR THE BEST CONTRACTOR I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WITHOUT HESITATION FOR ANY RESIDENTIAL PROJECT. Several things made our experience with Showcase so good: - its a one-stop shop. You get design and build services and they order all the materials. This is highly convienent and allows them to ensure product and service quality. - its a third generation family business. The owners are experienced, reliable and service oriented. They proactively made a number of suggestions which improved the final product. We still frequently call them if we have a question or issue and they are extremely responsive. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, for example, we had an issue with our natural gas powered back up generator and they showed up and got it fixed within hours of calling. - their construction crew and sub contractors are uniformly outstanding (as you would expect from a large established contractor). Given the project's size and duration we got to know all the key subs very well. The construction foreman, tile guy, plumber and electrician were especially good. They do extremely high quality work and also frequently offered up good suggestions for improvements. Proof of the quality of their work is the fact that we passed every single inspection the first time. - their designer, Haviva, is also very good. While we used our long time architect on the project, Haviva made a number of significant improvements to the original plan. - last, they are fair and reasonable. When issues or unexpected costs came up, we were quickly able to get to a solution that left everybody feeling ok.”

“Vita and Jerry came to our house as the third company to give us a proposal to update our kitchen which was 15 years old. The existing cabinets were in excellent condition and we wanted to reuse and add more cabinets in some areas. The final proposal was the best one we received with a new opening created in one wall and an additional opening into living room from stairs coming down that we did not even know would be a great idea but transformed our whole first floor. Very pleased with execution. Jerry and workers treated out house as theirs with care and consideration we never saw before with other companies.”

“We hired Picasso to execute a complicated architectural design. The space was a former Con Edison substation in SoHo NYC, which was to be converted into a Lola Supper Club and Performance space. Picasso show to be very resourceful in reacquiring materials at reasonable costs. The company made timely progress reports, any deviations from the schedule or architectural design was brought to our attention with proposed resolutions. Picasso worked well with LUFT Architects who were responsible for the design. Finally, Picasso came in .75% above budget, which we consider excellent performance, considering the scope and number of unknowns factors of the project. Sincerely Thomas Patrick-Odeen. “Honest, family run, customer service oriented operation. I came to them with a general idea to knock down a wall to combine my outdated medium sized kitchen and small dining area into one multi functioning space. They were ready, willing, and well equipped to fill in the blanks. There were a lot of blanks. I have a small {1000 sq. ft.} 2BR 1Bath ranch so this renovation represented approximately 1/3 of my house. Complicating the project was the loss of the baseboard heat that ran along the wall that was to be demolished (we would eventually go with radiant heat under the new wood floor to match the existing wood floor). John Little the owner (contractor/carpenter), and Mike Potapchuk (designer) came to the house and I was immediately impressed with their "can do" attitude while offering practical options for the many technical aspects of the project. They have an excellent reputation in the area and they offered a reasonable price so I did not shop around, we just got to work. A thousand and one decision to be made about things that I had absolutely no opinion about. This was why I had put this project off till now. They recommended I spend time developing opinions by visiting the Houzz website. After numerous hours with Mike and many visits to their well equipped design center in East Northport we had a plan. They could not have been more patient with me. At one point I came to them with an idea for the island that I saw on Houzz. It was a table base for one end of the new island. Within minutes Ann Marie (John's wife) had the company who made that table base on the phone and was pricing it out. John said he could tie it in to the island easily. They made it happen and that table base is now the focal point of my beautiful new kitchen. They also offered 2 free hours of consultation with their interior designer. Mary Maggio helped immensely with the color scheme (particularly the island color) while offering many other decorating ideas. All the guys that came to the house were gentleman who respected my property and privacy. Matt in particular went the extra mile in making my 60 year old house look new again. All things considered, I find it hard to imagine another contractor better suited to my needs. Matt”
