“We hired Timberlake to do an extensive renovation of our home in 2009. They were a pleasure to work with during every step of the process. Dave Lunden was honest, very reliable and extremely organized. The project was finished on time and on budget. It progressed exactly as he said that it would with no hidden costs or delays. The Project Manager and all of the subcontractors were a pleasure to deal with on a daily basis. They shared in our enthusiasm, were polite, highly skilled, hard working and responsive. I have spoken with several people who have had extensive renovations done to their home and frequently it was a stressful and unpleasant experience for them. I can honestly say that our experience with Timberlake was the opposite. Since the renovation I have contacted them several times for questions about materials or warranties and they have always responded to my requests immediately. If we were ever to renovate another home we would definitely use Timberlake.”

“Working with Nehemiah Construction was an amazing experience. The owner was professional, active throughout the whole project and easy to communicate with. He was especially helpful in helping me choose a hardwood floor. The way he helped me understand what was best was an art form. He wasn’t pushy, just knowledgeable. I get so many complements on my hardwood floors to this day.”

“Working with Workshop11 to build our dream home was a dream come true! Never having done a project of this scale and after hearing horror stories from people who used architects to design houses they couldn't afford to build, we were nervous about such a massive undertaking. Stephen worked collaboratively with us to make sure we designed a home that was modern and also practical for our family. He worked within our project budget, and always came up with creative ways to design something or build something that went beyond our expectations. We quickly learned to trust Stephen and his crew implicitly. And, despite his laid-back demeanor, Stephen is a closet-perfectionist that thinks carefully about how things look and function, and made sure everything was well-designed and well-built. Given Workshop11's ability to do metal design in addition to home design/build, everything in our home is custom and beautiful. After living in the house for almost two years, we still can't believe we get to live in this amazing modern home!”

“Synergy's attention to detail has been outstanding throughout the planning phase of our renovation. Synergy's design team exceeded our expectations and as demolition has now begun we eagerly await the construction phase. We have every confidence that Synergy's team will once again wow us. Update: Our Kitchen/Great Room renovation is complete and Synergy's design and construction teams absolutely blew us away with their attention to detail and customer service. To be fair, it is not possible to completely convey our level of satisfaction in a short review. When is the last time you worked with a team of professionals whose standards for excellence exceed your own? Without fail, when we would raise a potential issue with Synergy we would find out they had already noticed it and created a plan to address it. Think about that for a moment, not push back, not an attempt to avoid extra work by saying there is no issue. Instead, reassurance that they are holding themselves to a standard that is higher than your own. Simply put, that never happens. Yet with Synergy it is just the way they work. When their level of craftsmanship (which is nothing short of uniformly excellent) is married with Synergy's ability to design and deliver breathtaking spaces, the result redefines what renovating can and should be. “The crew from Chevy Chase Remodeling did an excellent job replacing my damaged kitchen ceiling, cabinets and countertops. The crew was dependable, professional and courteous. They made adjustments for small space misalignments that had not been foreseen, followed through on punch list items and kept costs within the exact range of original quotes. They made sure that I was happy with their work, and I was very pleased!”

“We have used Winn Design on two different occasions. The first, in 2007, was a project to replace the exterior doors, windows, and siding of our 1969 ranch house. As part of the project, we added a natural wood portico to the front entrance. More than 5 years later we still have people stop to take pictures and ask us who has done the construction. In 2010 we contracted again with Winn to extend and completely remodel our kitchen. As this was our first experience with a project of this size, the design process was very daunting. However, Winn patiently worked with us over a few months through many revisions until we had a design that fit our needs and budget. During construction we went on vacation and the project manager sent us pictures and summaries on almost a daily basis so that we could keep up with the progress of the project. As the different trades came to the project we were impressed by the quality of the subcontractors Winn used. Several trades mentioned that Winn was one of their favorite companies to work with. Happy and skilled subcontractors are also key to a successful project! Renovations can be very intimidating and stressful on a marriage. We are very grateful that Winn, through their professionalism and quality of work, made the process as pleasant and successful as we might have hoped for. Now, with more than 2 years behind us, we know that we made the right choice to use them. There are many contractor horror stories out there, but you won’t have one with Winn.”

“Construction & remodeling is a big business. There are many small & large companies competing in the field. What stand out about SB was 1- their estimates were very close to the actual cost, 2- they did the job on time & 3- they made no excuses like lots of others I have seen because they didn’t need to. Professional staff with great service. I do recommend them for anybody looking to do work on their homes.”

“We inherited a 1970's "avocado green" galley kitchen. We did the best we could with simple homeowner improvements (replaced appliances, etc) but finally had to do a remodel. After interviewing several design/build firm, with went with Anthony Wilder. They created a design within our budget, and made some important safety upgrades that previous contractors had done incorrectly. We took out an interior wall and bumped out the back wall. We bought new high-end applicances, custom cabinets and installed hardwood floors. We also added a lovely back patio. The AWDB employees supervised every step of the remodel and made sure we were 100% satisfied. We love our new kitchen! It's been over 2 years and we still get compliments on its design and its beauty. Best of all, the total design and craftsmanship has greatly increased the value of our home.”

“Spectrum has done a full bathroom and basement renovation for us, in addition to several smaller projects including replacing all the exterior doors to the house and refinishing our front porch. The quality of the work is excellent. Communicating for the purpose of planning and providing feedback is easy due to their rapid response and liberal use of email and cell contact. They responded well to feedback regarding the work site when we had complaints about dust and so forth. The quality of their work holds up; our bathroom completed in 2008 continues to be in terrific condition. They were described by the person who referred them, an architect, very accurately. "They're not the cheapest, but they're the best." I highly recommend them.”
