Several times he was able to pass on materials savings to us, and the quality of workmanship--perfection! Matt and Glen maintain the highest level of professionalism in their personal conduct. I would trust them with my house and all of my belonging without a care--they are as trustworthy as it gets. “As a real estate professional, it isn’t uncommon to walk through a property that you wish was yours... This is exactly what happened to me the day I walked through one of Brush and Hammer Builders spec homes in Portland, Maine. I quickly brought my husband back, and with little convincing we quickly signed a contract to hire them as our builders to make this dream a reality. One of the first things that stood out to me about Anthony and Adam was their attention to detail and passion for their craft. I was completely floored by their selection of finishes, carpentry and ability to work with you to ensure they were creating the space you envisioned. In my case... this was an open kitchen design with lots of storage, and a walk-in butlers pantry with a counter top and floating shelving. While my husband didn’t think it could happen, they proved otherwise, and have created a space for me with beautiful, high quality cabinetry, custom navy island end panels, and the pantry exactly as I imagined. Anthony and Adam have experience in design, are organized, wonderful communicators, and have a fantastic process that results in an incredible product. If you are considering building a home, or looking to them for kitchen design, I would encourage you to set up a meeting today. “Medomak Construction was a great company to work with. From the start of the project design (the project lead took my vision from my head and made it happen), to pricing (offered options that were cost savings or choices that cost more but offered the superior product that would last a "lifetime"), to the execution of the project...the staff was all amazing! The project lead, the hands on staff that were on the job site were all great to work with. They answered all the insane questions my husband had on nearly a daily basis with a smile on their face. “Consider using Josh Howell. We had him help with extensive renovations of our 1880s house in Friendship. You can see a portfolio of pictures of our place in his "projects." What you cannot see is the "before" and there is a very big difference! Josh was terrific to work with on this project. I would have no hesitation in working with him again. Josh has imagination and good ideas, and he will make suggestions, but he knows that the project is yours and will carry things out as you specify. He has a good set of subcontractors to carry out painting, or floor work and other specialities, so you can leave the coordination of those activities to him and he will follow up to make sure things are done to your satisfaction. For our remodel, the kitchen cabinets were done by Brandon Kimble of Camden and the slate came from Sheldon Slate, but it was Josh who helped all the pieces come together properly. Josh is totally trustworthy about money. As with any remodeling project, we ran into some surprises and the overall project cost more and took longer than we expected at the beginning, but this was entirely due to our own choices to do things better. The slippery slope is any sentence that begins with "As long as we're..." but the outcome at our place has been really good: better windows, more insulation, much better plumbing, and other improvements. Josh has good sense about what is important and what is optional. He also knows when he can make a choice and when he should check in with you. He's a good listener and really works to understand what you want. There were some very tricky places in our old house, especially in the bathroom we created in the space that was the attic dormer. Josh was very thoughtful and creative in executing a good solution to a highly constrained setting. We love our house in Maine and we're very glad we hired Josh to make it better.”
