“I have hired A&E Construction for both large and small projects multiple times over the past 8 years and without any hesitation, give them the highest recommendation possible. The owner of the company, Greg Fontaine, is experienced, knowledgeable, honest and reliable. Projects were always done on time and on budget and if for some reason, the schedule needs to change, Greg does an excellent job communicating the reasons. Before working with A&E, we hired many contractors over the years, and no one ever compared in terms of quality of work combined with reliability and trustworthiness.
Another thing we've really appreciated about working with Greg is his ability to provide us with options and ideas if we needed to scale back on a project. Two of the larger projects Greg did for us were finishing our basement and building a poolhouse. Greg was very cognizant that we did not have an unlimited budget and worked with us to make sure we got the most for our money.
Greg also does an excellent job hiring talented and reliable people that I am always comfortable having in my home. Additionally, they are very neat and always clean up after themselves at the end of each day.
Lastly, and most importantly, Greg really cares about his customers and goes above and beyond what's expected to make sure they are 100% satisfied. I can't say enough good things about him and A&E!! If you hire them, you won't be disappointed.”

The project took a lot longer than expected. Some situations were beyond our control while others could have been avoided through better coordination. On the whole we are very happy with the work. We broke ground in November - it's now late July and I think we have 3 - 4 more weeks of work till we are completed.”

He would personally be on the job 6 days a week, and this entire effort (from demolition to a shell being ready) was completed in less than 10 weeks. In the meantime, he had built a temporary kitchen in our basement, and sealed off the area to prevent dust pollution. Cannot recommend Allan highly enough -- his costs were very reasonable (I shopped around), his workmanship is excellent, his team is very professional, highly ethical (no hidden charges or surprises) -- I've recommended Allan to many friends, and would not hesitate to hire him again.”

He keeps the client informed about the time frame for a project and does a good job co-ordinating subcontractors. He has drywalled and tiled a basement bathroom for me, completely rebuilt my front porch using mahogany decking and last fall gutted my upstairs bathroom, removed the tub, installed a marble shower, installed two custom walnut cabinets and added an attic fan and an exhaust fan. The job was not cheap, however the quality is top shelf and I have no regrets. Also he is very pleasant and his team is skilled and polite.”
