“Perfect communication at all times, fabulous ideas and went above and beyond my expectations”
Charles Blake Associates Architecture
3D Rendering in Willand.
“We employed Simon having come across the firm in my role as a local council solicitor. We were not disappointed. We wanted a new porch, loft conversion and new integral garden room/ conservatory. Simon listened to our ideas and designed a layout has provided us with beautiful living space. He guided us through the planning process so that our planning application was supported by the council within the 8 week timeframe. He met every deadline and did so in a professional yet relaxed manner.
Further support and advice was provided as we appointed a builder and Charles Blake kept a helpful eye as the project went ahead, Everything went just as smoothly and on schedule.
Can't thank CBA enough, best decision we made.”
New Space Architecture

“We were recommended New Space by a friend and they were brilliant from start to finish. We wanted another bedroom for our youngest daughter and with limited space around the house we didn't know how we could do it without moving. New Space suggested we converted our loft and came up with an incredible design which allowed us to have a new bedroom and en-suite in the loft. They made the process so simple, as well as fun and their drawings were so clear and detailed the builder was really happy.”
NDM Architects

“I found NDM Architects on the Web and not as a consequence of a personal recommendation. They offered an hour's free consultation which proved very helpful and gave me confidence to instruct them. Their website was well laid out detailing exactly what their services included. This was supported by a detailed "step by step" letter of instruction with itemised costs for each step of work. Service was always prompt with most replies (phone and E mail) by return. They came up with design ideas we would not have thought of had we instructed a builder directly. I'm pleased I instructed them especially in dealing with paperwork for approvals of the District Council and recommending builders to undertake the works.Money well spent.”
Maria Escribano Architects Ltd

“Maria assisted us with our Grade II listed loft conversion. We were delighted with the quality of her work and attention to detail. She helped us through every stage of planning our loft conversion, from the initial designs to liaising with builder and structural engineers and producing our application for planning permission. We were impressed with the standard of her work, the speed at which she responded to our requests and the fact that she understood what we wanted from our loft conversion and was able to offer us practical and elegant solutions with the final design.”

“Our restoration project evolved into a very special experience for all the team involved. Kirsty Curnow Bailey was recommended to us by a local buildings surveyor and we arranged an initial 2 hour meeting. The 'cost' to us was a donation to Kirsty's favourite charity. We gelled almost immediately and the journey began. We were involved at every part of the design stage and our ideas were blended with Kirsty's practicality and imagination. She lead the negotiations with the National Park planners and the conservation officer with great professionalism. She introduced us to two building companies and we were pleased to award the job to RM Builders in Tavistock.
I year later the works began. The restoration took 16 months and involved a complete reroofing , new external lime render, major lath and plaster internal restoration and a full replumb and rewire. Kirsty was ever-present and chaired site meetings every 2 weeks. The budget was observed closely and contingency added at 2 different stages. Underground drainage works were a major additional cost and could not have been fully predicted at the outset. The build quality was exactly as requested and Kirsty was adamant that the planned standards were fully met.
Discoveries on the way included a 1500 carved granite fireplace in the main room, finding a 3rd staircase inside a 5 foot rubble wall and opening up the blocked cross passage in the centre of the house. The oldest timbers exposed during the works date back to the 1300's!
Kirsty was pivotal in returning our home to its current condition, blending very old with contemporary and very modern. We are delighted with the result and we would recommend Living Space Architects to any prospective clients.
Everything now works 100%, the building breathes again and will be on track for the next 100yrs for sure. Thanks Kirsty

Woodford Architecture and Interiors
3D Rendering in Willand.
“A really outstanding business.
We used the team at Woodford to help us update an old Rectory we had purchased. Gavin developed the new design for our kitchen, en-suite master bedroom and two other bathrooms. He picked up very cleverly on existing design elements of the original Georgian rectory and incorporated these into a modern but appropriate twist for the new designs.
We ended up following all Sarah's proposals for flooring, wall colours, kitchen & bathroom fixtures & fittings. She also developed beautiful ideas for curtains and roman-blinds and was able to recommend a great local company who provided the fabrication (and who did a really good job on this).
In summary, their advice and professionalism was wide-ranging, great value-for-money and time-generous.
Gavin & Sarah and the team at Woodford absolutely exceeded our expectations.”

“Huge thanks to Luke and Matt for providing first class designs and advice for our projects. We have used HMAD on 2 separate occasions, both projects involving listed buildings in conservation areas, and their help and knowledge within this field was invaluable.
We particularly loved the 3D virtual models which gave us an amazing insight into what the finished building would look like.”
Phoenix Architecture

“Our starting point was deciding we needed to re-build our 1950’s single skin, add-on extension. ( The kitchen was colder than in the fridge in winter!) It also needed to sit well with our old cob house. Phil was great as he helped us remodel both our design ideas, as well as our new extension.
Phil guided us through a process that we had already done a lot of thinking about. He set us tasks to consider our design, sketching ideas, looking at materials and finishes. As a result, we covered a wall with images, drawings and colours. He then took the ideas we had, developed, improved and enhanced them…definitely a more elegant solution!
Phil had the ability to find answers to problems that actually added to the design, e.g., our glazed end truss and the window tray enabling a higher ceiling height. He was also great fun to work with. He helpfully answered streams of questions from first time self-builders (that must sometimes have been blindingly obvious to him), with patience, helpful diagrams and many cups of tea!
Working with an architect is a partnership, one where listening and understanding is key for both parties. Our advice…pick an architect you can relate too and enjoy working with. They will probably provide solutions that challenge your thinking, but more importantly for us, build on, and improve your own ideas.”
