BLDG Workshop Inc.
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“We can highly recommend BLDG Workshop with complete confidence. In contrast to the many bumps along the way of our renovation and addition, the design process was exciting and enjoyable. Nathan and his team of professionals were timely and efficient, good at communication, and willing to work with the trades we had hired; however, their best attribute is of course their smart, inspired design! Our favourite part of working with BLDG was the collaborating... they are the experts but they listened to our ideas and were excellent at incorporating our whims and wishes. We will definitely be contacting BLDG the next time we build!”

“We worked with Gloria to re design and re construct a 3,400 square foot home in Riverdale. The results were spectacular in the true sense of the word and a credit to Gloria's innovative and cost sensitive design. We would recommend her highly.”
Geometra Design Ltd.
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“I hired Gabriele and his company, Geometra Design in June 2012 to design a 3,500 square foot, 2 storey home that I will be building in south Etobicoke. Gabriele was able to complete concept design, committee of adjustment application and meeting, building permit design and application in less then 5 months. He was able to accomodate all aspects of the building permit requirements, including mechanical engineer, structural engineer and final renderings. His professionism and approach to the project, including deadlines was unsurpassed. He was able to facilitate all my needs, from design to building permit application (which in Toronto in not easy). His knowledge of the new digital building permit application requirements, made my application process very easy. I was told at the City of Toronto building department that most people do not have all the documents in the required format, but my application was perfect.
I am very pleased with his work ethic and ability to respond to all requests. He was very easy to work with and I would recommend Gabriele and his company to anyone who is looking for a knowledgable architect, who can take any project from start to finish with ease. I look forward to working with him again soon.

“Marin has great vision when it comes to design. He is able to come up with great use of space and function. Contempo studio has a talent in modern designs and it shows through their work. We are very happy with our modern house which is being built in Park Hill Rd currently. We still call Marin with questions for our construction and suggestions on materials and he still continues to provide great costumer service.”
CAB Architects
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“We came to CAB Architects after we purchased our home last summer. With the current Toronto housing market, we knew it would not be possible to find our dream home; we had to make it. Brian and Charisma made this process as simple and as straightforward as possible. Renovations are never easy, but it helps to have good people helping you work through it. CAB provided us with a few creative schematic options, developed our favourite one, and helped us find reliable contractors to work with to execute the design. We are so happy with our new home, and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.”
Solares Architecture
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“Solares Architecture Inc. from day 1 were a pleasure to deal with. Personable and professional through out. Renovation projects, particularly in downtown are never bereft of surprises and ours was definitely not the exception! Our project was full of surprises and eventualities which where difficult to stomach as they arose. Despite our frustrations, Solares was always there to listen to us, help us re-navigate the project and provide us with alternatives at each crossroads as they occurred and gave the extra 10%. An ethos of under promise and over deliver exists with Solares Inc.”
Dewson Architects
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“I hired William Dewson Architects to design a summer cottage in Georgian Bay on a 5 acre island. Our first challenge was to figure out the site plan and where to put the cottage given numerous zoning restrictions and other natural fators. Bill and his team were great to work with throughout the whole process of defining the best site and then brainstorming the design that best suited our family asthetic. Bill's charismatic enthusiasm made our meetings fun and creative, we were all very happy with the end result and thoroughly enjoyed the design experience from start to finish.”
Studio Z Design
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“Our beautifully renovated second floor never would have happened without Zuzanna of Studio Z Design. I think the most important skill she brought to the project for us was how she guided us through a decision making process that was logical, well-paced and timely. Her excellent drawings showing alternative designs and looks supported that decision making. She managed the tendering professionally, and helped us reconsider some features when estimates came in somewhat higher than we were hoping. During the construction phase, we had the peace of mind knowing that Zuzanna was there to mediate any issues that might arise with the contractor. None did. I would highly recommend her services.”
Lindy Architect
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“We engaged Lindy Consulting to provide some plans to renovate the 3rd floor of our house which was an unused portion of our house which contained two bedrooms and which we were using as additional storage space. Our plan was to move our master bedroom to this space and add a full washroom. We met with Steven and Annette to discuss our ideas and how we envisaged the space and our estimated budget. They came back to us the following week with some preliminary sketches that impressed us. We then gave them the mandate to prepare full drawings and once approved by us, they managed the project from completing the drawings, getting them approved, and seeing the project through to completion. We were quite hands-on in the decision making but they truly took ownership of the project and had our best interests in mind throughout. Although we ended up spending more than we budgeted (which was as a result of our decision to upgrade bathroom appliances, flooring etc.), we are really pleased with the final result.”
STACKLAB
Eco Homes in Thorncrest Village.
“We hired Jeff and the STACKLAB team for 2 projects, and they delivered quality workmanship beyond our expectations on both.
The first project we commissioned was a custom bar (top shelf). We gave Jeff a very vague idea of what we were looking for, and from there he spun off in a creative direction we never anticipated. The collaboration with other artisans he brought into the project made the custom bar a beautiful piece to behold and one we are happy to display proudly in our home. The thing I love most about it is its clean, linear design and how it appears to float on the wall.
The second project was something we had not planned on, however when visiting STACKLAB's studio to discuss the custom bar, we saw some heritage redwood slabs, and decided to commission a desk from one of them (rubaiyat). We knew we wanted the slabs to retain their live edge, so Jeff showed us some design prototypes for legs he was working on. They were the perfect balance of rustic and contemporary design, so we agreed to include them in our project. When the desk was completed, Jeff and team delivered it to the house, only to find that the desk slab was several inches too long to clear the angles of the open staircase. They dutifully hauled the giant 10 foot slab back to their studio to trim an edge slightly and even brought it back the same day! I didn't envy them having to haul that mammoth piece up the stairs twice in one afternoon, but it was done without even the tiniest complaint. It is one of the most talked about pieces when guests visit, and I derive so much joy from seeing it every morning when I pass by.
We enjoyed working with STACKLAB so much, that since then I've been trying to think of other projects we can commission for our home.”
