We definitely got more than be hoped for working with Sophie Piesse. “Working with Belladomus has been a great pleasure. Their design plans have hugely improved the livability and attractiveness of our home. We especially appreciate their use of natural light to enhance the spaces. We staged our major home improvements in three phases, beginning in 2006 with addition of a screened porch, new decks, breakfast/sun room, and family room renovation. We were so happy with James Morgan's creativity, respect for our budget, and careful attention during construction, that we knew we would continue to use BellaDomus design services. Our next project, a new front porch, and addition to the second story for an enlarged master suite including new bath, was a fantastic improvement to the house. Beth's design talent really showed in her selections of tile, flooring, and fixtures. We are now working with James and Beth on the final stage, with a kitchen/dining room redesign and updates to the entry way, and we are eager to see the plans.”

“L. Meyers brought me in as a preservation consultant to assist one of their homeowners with preservation tax credits on a kitchen renovation. I was impressed with the thoroughness of their preparations for me, the ease of communication, and also with their clear focus on customer service. The homeowner was obviously pleased with the work, and I look forward to working with Meyers again.”

“My husband and I live in a beautiful location on the Haw River and wanted to remodel part of our home to take advantage of the views and river access. We entertain frequently and wanted more room in the right places and also good flow from room to room. I am an artist, and my husband enjoys woodworking. We wanted spaces that reinforced our aspirations. We decided to add a den with a wood stove, a screened in porch with cat walk to our large back deck, a new kitchen, an art studio, and a workshop. To keep costs down, we hoped to use significant floor space in a poorly-used two car garage. We had some design ideas for the finished product, but mainly, we knew what we wanted to achieve in the way we live in our house and on our property. We looked for an architect with imagination and with good taste who could pull it all together for us. Alicia Ravetto was the perfect choice for our project. She immediately understood what we were after, and she designed spaces that creatively achieved all our criteria. She was very organized in how she handled the developing plans. We could look back and see how we moved from step to step. This was important in constantly bringing us back to the goals we set at the very beginning. Alicia met deadlines and was fun and honest to work with throughout the project. There were significant cost overruns, but this is because we were so happy with what we saw happening, we asked for more and more. We are thrilled with the outcome. It is wonderful living in our "new" custom home.”

“We hired Bizios Architecht to design our house and we were very happy with the whole process. The firm started by helping us clarify what we wanted and then made suggestions on how to achieve this. Gerogia Bizios and her team designed a house achieving our objectives within our budget and worked well with the contractor to make sure these were realized. In addition, we had a strange lot and they sited the house perfectly!”

“Calico Studio was like working with old friends (they provided full design and construction document services for a ground up custom home)! I had the real potential of being a "client-zilla" with an architectural degree of my own, a bit of an analytical nature, active in commercial RE & construction all of my career, and worst of all, no true idea of what I wanted besides the spaces and a rough floor plan sketch. Just coming out of nearly 30 yrs where my ex defined and chose our style, I only had a swirl of thoughts (a big Houzz ideabook), and a jumble of images in my head. Heather was the BEST at sorting through all of this - including my head! We are breaking ground soon on "my first and last HOME" thanks to Calico Studio! It isn't what I imagined it would be, and it is more. And Heather's little tweaks have been genius for the manner in which I live. Based upon her Houzz presence, and the work shown on the independent Calico website, she was an easy choice over 4 other architects to help interpret my needs, wants and desires. I didn't even check references - however, if anyone ever wants to speak with me directly about my experiences, I will be happy to be one for Calico, besides this writing. Heather is completely knowledgeable about the codes, environmental concerns, permitting, the political nature of dealing with municipalities, materials, new markets, work flow - you name it - and without vanity or ego. She is a delight to work with, and I am very lucky I found the perfect architect for my dream home.”

“Jonathan of Meadows Architecture was great to work with. I had a rough idea in my head of what I wanted the project to look like but working with Jonathan collaboratively really solidified it into something close to what I'd imagined but also better. It is important to have a professional who both knows what he's doing and takes your ideas seriously, and Meadows Architecture did that for me. The land I was building on involved plenty of problem solving and creative solutions, and the finished design looked perfect for the lot. I would recommend Meadows Architecture to anyone who is excited to see their ideas refined and built upon to make something really unique but also personal.”
