“Don Bladja and his team at Koal PLLC have provided remarkably professional and creative work product for our home development efforts. It has been a joy to see our vision unfold with Don as he deftly works with our builder, his structural engineering partner, our cabinet maker, and others on our complex project. He has taken a very rough plan, started by another architectural firm with which we were unsatisfied, mixed in quite a number of unique and complicated requests from us along with forbidding site restrictions and has turned it into a detailed set of drawings that has "wowed" all with whom we have shared. Our builder and his tradesmen have easily implemented our shared vision straight from Don's plans. Many of our complicated requests, including a float room, sauna, elevator, and golf simulator/theater/business conference room combination (to name just a few) started as simple ideas scribbled on a napkin. With Don's expertise and experience, he quickly showed us many alternatives; turning our crazy simple sketches into detailed plans that worked within our uniquely challenging house footprint. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Don and his team. We only wish there were more than 5 stars to rate Koal PLLC, so you would more fully understand how impressed we have been!”

“After meeting Gavin for the first time, I know our kitchen would be in good hands! We wanted to renovate our entire kitchen area, entranceway and at the same time, make it modern and practical for a family of 6. He gave us several different drawings and ideas and we collaborated on the final design. Through the entire process, his "designer" brain is always on! He is constantly trying to find the best fit for our needs and situation. He has a broad knowledge of not only architecture, but the entire design, permit, build, construction process. This is also why we loved working with him because he has a great sense of the cost required to complete our design and stay within our budget. Throughout the entire process, he was available by phone and email to coordinate, plan or fix small details. He worked seamlessly with the city to get our plans approved and permitted. It felt to us that our project was his only project and he knew every single detail probably better than us. We absolutely love our new kitchen and will for years to come! “Mark did a wonderful passive solar home design for us. We are off the grid in an area that has plenty of nature around it that we did not want to compete with. He worked with us to meet our wishes for a small footprint structure with all the essential living space on one floor with doorways and spaces that could accommodate a wheelchair if the necessity ever arises. He generated floor plans, elevations (interior as well as exterior) and renderings of the exterior so we were able to see exactly what we were getting. It was an excellent set of construction documents completed on schedule and on budget. We are extremely satisfied.”

She had some really great ideas for my challenging kitchen that I was able to incorporate in my kitchen remodel about 8 years ago. That's why I hired her again to help with my master bath remodel. It was important to me to try to stay green and energy efficient as much as possible. She is LEEDs accredited but was very forth-coming in letting us know whether certain products or changes made sense for us in terms of return for our investment and house.
