Guy was also very helpful in presenting several alternatives to us. Our remodel is now complete and it is as perfect as we could have wanted. “David Wilson and WA Design have been the architects on two homes for our family, one in the Oakland Hills and one in Napa, California, on a rock-filled challenging site. They have been wonderful and responsive to work with, embracing our ideas in the spirit of collaboration. Designing and building a home is a very personal experience, and to be successful the firm you hire should be a pleasure to work with on many levels. This firm definitely is. David became a good friend during and after our process on the first home, and that made the second project even easier. Their style is warm contenporary, so easy to live in. I have contacted him about questions after the completion of both projects and he has been more than helpful, continuing to get information for me and share ideas. Both houses have hosted several events (best kitchens, touring unique houses, etc) and I continue to receive compliments: "I love your house, it's the best house architecture I've seen"; "I'm impressed by the views, light, organic flow and peacefulness of this homes", and many, many more positive comments. I strongly recommend this firm if you want to create a one of a kind home ! PS Hire them and I'll be jealous, I want to build a house with them again.”

“I just completed a complete remodel of my San Francisco Edwardian flat and build out my basement. Joanne and her staff did a fantastic job. It started out as a kitchen bath remodel, but once the design process started expanded to include every room as we discussed how different spaces would be used and what I didn't like about the current space after living with it for 20yrs. Might as well do it right! Joanne's attention to detail, listening, and high ethical standards are unmatched. She would listen in the meetings and ask questions then come back with some ideas and sketches to get my reaction. She knew what I wanted without me even knowing it. She was also sensitive to the project budget which was important. I was able to complete the project within my budget. She was also key to working with the general contractor. She brought with her experience in projects of my scope / scale and working with different contractors and even her own remodel. This helped immensely. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Koch Architects again.”

“We were in a unique situation - an opportunity to do some remodeling after a house fire. With the insurance budget parameters, we were still hopeful we could make some beautiful improvements to our home. Lincoln was the perfect person to partner with. He helped us envision simple, creative and impactful changes to our home that included opening our dining room up so that the best view in the house (from a kitchen window) was visible from the living and dining rooms. He listened to our wish to host larger dinner parties and created a movable ceiling light, so it can always be centrally positioned regardless of how long our dining room table might be. He worked with our more conservative contractor and helped advocate for our ideas, finding modern, sleek textiles and cabinetry that immediately increased the value of our home. A back hallway became a pantry; a small closet in the bedroom was expanded to become a little walk-in closet. We built in a post-modern ladder to the attic, an interior wall window to bring more light into the bedroom and many other details we wouldn't have thought about. Lincoln's vision and experience elevated our home and it turned a disaster (fire) into a huge opportunity! I highly recommend collaborating with Lincoln on your next project, big or small.”

“My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Elida Doldan Schujman to design and develop a wine cellar. The project's expectations grew when we met Elida who gave us her insight to design a wine cellar and completely finish the construction of the basement and garage. This required extensive demolition, foundation repair, new heating system, and a very technical architectural design. Elida managed the entire project. Every detail was presented after careful research and listening to our requirements. We were extremely pleased with the results. Working with Elida was a wonderful experience. Her creative ideas and attention to the details made the difference in converting our basement to a wine cellar, gym, workshop, cedar closet, and inventory closet. She is professional, personable, and a very creative architect.”

“We spent two years with Bill Holland, the first conceptualizing ideas for a major remodel of our 1916 Craftsman style house, the second in construction. We loved working with Bill and today appreciate his talents as we enjoy living in our evolved home. Bill is a gifted architect – able to visualize the design and construction of a three dimensional space in his mind’s eye, and then communicate his vision to clients in an understandable way. We wanted more openness and access from the rear of our house to our back yard. The result is stunning – truly an indoor/outdoor living space. Upon the completion of our project, Bill and we were honored to win an award from the City of Piedmont for the Best Outdoor Living Area in 2011. ”

“We used John Lum Architecture for the complete remodel of ~1000 sq ft in San Francisco. John and team were fantastic to work with. Very creative yet good at listening to our thoughts and integrating our ideas. They understand how to both design a gorgeous contemporary space while still keeping it comfortable and livable. We depended on them with a lot of design detail recommendations such as fixtures, paint, tiles and they always had great suggestions that made the process much simpler and easy to manage. They are very professional, extremely responsive and timely. There were no surprises during the entire process including on deadlines and budgets. I would strongly recommend them.”
